A modern interpretation of desert design, blending geometric balance with warm neutral tones. Layers of texture and form suggest a refined harmony between nature and structure. Art by Lisa S Baker.
Another scrap block, this time with even smaller pieces and wilder colour combinations. There's floral and botanical motifs on the fabrics, but also one with tiny little cats. There's a bunch of embroidery on this one, too, and this time it's not even any kind of seam. A half finished big pink flower partially in frame.
Kitty Paws and Petals / Cat Art by Lisa S Baker. A charming kitten wears a decorative hat and collar, sitting amidst large blue flowers. The background features a patchwork of soft pastel colors, giving it a whimsical and dreamy atmosphere.
Yesterday's and today's patches for my #The100DayProject blanket
The thin thread is Symfonie Knitpro. I used it in a pair of socks. I very much enjoyed this yarn.
The chunky thread is Hjertegarn Milano, maybe bought in Åre, so I turned the rest of that ball into an Åre hat today. It's nice and soft and muffles my migraine.
Today's #yarn is a complete mystery, but I have a very fuzzy memory of being taught to knit with purple yarn, so I wonder if that's what the purple leftovers are from?
I got almost all the #knitting I did during my vacation attached to the main body of the blanket.
Here's where it is at now.
I still have some four or five lying around that need to be attached. I think it's about 75% ready, but all the edges still need to be crocheted, and there are a lot of loose threads on the back. #The100DayProject#patchwork
The end of #The100DayProject draws near.
I've knitted and attached all my squares. Now I need to start cleaning it up and crocheting the edges. So this means Ihave about a week to tidy up the threads, crochet a border, and then try to block it. This should be 187 squares.
The front looks a lot more ready than the back. #knitting#patchwork
A satellite picture of a coastal area, possibly a mangrove swamp. In the foreground, there are numerous small, rectangular plots of land, possibly agricultural fields or aquaculture ponds, exhibiting a variety of colors, including greens, browns, and yellows. These plots are separated by thin, dark lines, suggesting boundaries or channels. The background reveals a darker, watery expanse, likely a body of water, possibly a river or the ocean, along with patches of lush green vegetation, possibly mangrove forests. A winding waterway meanders through the landscape, connecting the inland fields to the larger body of water.
I've been slowly working on the cat quilt. Top-stitching one little bit or two, pulling the threads to the reverse and finishing them. Put on the binding but didn't take the basting threads off yet. This variegated thread I had perfectly matches! Mom has seen it and likes how it looks and it looks less trash to me, so that's good. Still very hard to get decent photos of.
A top down photo of a corner of an immense patchwork quilt. It is made of little square cat prints (which are stylised drawn cats on a white background), a cat fabric with teal, brown, turquoise, yellow and blue cats, and all these colours and grays and creams in different squares, triangles and bands. There is a lot of stitching that starts and stops, small lengths that go around and across, and then you have to cut the threads again. This means a lot of finishing by hand, let me tell you! It looks reasonably nice, though.
