Oj, it seems I've missed my first anniversary on Mastodon last friday :blobblush:
In this first year I've had a lot of meaningful and joyful interactions with lots of interesting folks, read and learned about many cool things, got inspired and found this place to be very welcoming and slow in a very pleasant way.
I'm enjoying my time here so much more than any other kind of social media, so I reeeeally hope all my friends will join me here soon, so we can have a real good time together away from those disgusting tech billionaires.
Feeling grateful, special thanks to
@brook for being a great groundskeeper :)
A selfie showing my face (dark hair, big glasses). The sun in going down in the back over a beautiful Swedish forest lake. There are soft waves on the water and it is reflecting the treeline and the sun like a rippled mirror. There are sunrays and lens flare. I'm wearing a thin chain necklace with a silver nyckelharpa pendant.
Today's Small Moment - looking back on this day in 2023 when I was driving from Virginia to Michigan to bring dad to live with us. As always, I have to stop at one (or both) of the parks on either end of the Bridge. This shot is from the Colonial Michilimackinac Historic State Park in Mackinaw City in Michigan's Lower Peninsula.
With the snow on the shoreline and the view through the trees, this is one of my favorite views of the Mighty Mac.
This will be uploaded to my gallery at BeautifulSunPhotography.com soon.
The Mackinac Bridge spans across the Straits of Mackinac (between Lake Michigan and Lake Huron), seen on a cloudy day. In the foreground, a sandy beach features scattered rocks and patches of snow. Trees frame the scene, adding natural elements to the landscape.
Duuuude! I went back to American Music to look at bass guitars for fun, and the guy who usually helps me was like "we got a pedal in that works with the amp you bought last time, it's behind the counter with your name on it. Free."
A black box with a gauge, 4 big buttons, and a foot pedal. It's a FBV MKII switch pedal for a Line6 amp. My toes are cuddling it in my mismatched fuzzy pastel socks.
2025 was a shit show of absurdity. But in the end, is there anything you feel proud of? Any moments of inner pride? Goals reached? Or soft moments of peace that you'd like to share? I will post mine in the comments and please tell me about your shining moments of clarity. #gratitude#2025wrapup#joinin
Coming soon to my gallery, some photographs from our Christmas Day visit to Abbott Lake at the Peaks of Otter Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. It was 58°F/14°C with very little wind. A beautiful day for a stroll around the lake.
A tranquil scene at Abbott Lake at the Peak of Otter Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. The lake is surrounded by bare trees and dry grasses under a cloudy sky. Reflections of the landscape are visible in the still water, creating a serene atmosphere.
Loving this phrase,
"I am a vessel through which care flows."
I don't see it as an affirmation. But a truth I want to embody.
For this quote from the book Mindful by Nature. Written by Tim Drake and Jason Hamilton. "There is no place where you stop and nature begins."
I had the sweetest dream with someone I am trying to get along with. I had this dream after I read a bit of this book titled How to Work with Angels by Elizabeth Clare Prophet.
Thank you for choosing my artwork to beautify your home or office space - it's a true validation of my work! Appreciate your support of independent artists! Enjoy!

I started a gratitude journal on January 1 2025. I write in it daily. Some days I have tons to write. Others, I am thankful for the ability to write anything down. It has led to more feelings of joy in my life!
TODAY ~ Choose an attitude of Gratitude over a complaining spirit; being critical, negative, or cynical. Now, it's time to get busy with Enjoying an Amazing life🌹
If you have the means, please consider a donation to your charity or non-profit of choice during this holiday season. I highly recommend local food banks (money gives them more spending power than food donations), The Internet Archive (https://archive.org/), EFF (https://supporters.eff.org/donate/tbc--db), or Wikipedia (https://www.wikipedia.org/) if you need/want ideas.
Also, please remember your local Mastodon instances, it’s not free to keep the lights on. Thanks
@jerry!
Feeling grateful...Not just today, but every day. Gratitude is a daily practice. Science confirms that the more good you look for and see, the more good you find. :)
“Being humble means recognizing that we are not on earth to see how important we can become, but to see how much difference we can make in the lives of others” ~ Gordon B. Hinckley
A cluster of pink star-shaped flowers with fluffy edges, suspended from a green stem. The flowers display delicate details and a vibrant color contrast.
I want to take a moment to recognize mas.to, and their whole admin/mod team. I know it's a big decision to move away from open registration, and one that took a lot of discussion, but your response to the situation has been nothing short of stellar.
So thank you. Thank you for making Fedi a safer place for everyone, and thank you especially for focusing on your existing communities. I hope they know how much work y'all put in to keep things running as smoothly as they do.
Big THANKS to a buyer in WA for the purchase of 14 individual Greeting Cards from my online Gallery!
Your support of local independent artists is greatly appreciated!
Evening view of the Edison Lutheran Church in a rural landscape of Fir Island, Washington, framed by the silhouette of the distant Mount Baker (Koma Kushan) under a vibrant purple evening sky. Snow-capped peaks rise majestically in the background, adding a serene feel to the scene.
The image is printed on a Greeting Card I just sold.
