#Hoffnung zu behalten, grenzt manchmal schon an ein kleines Wunder. 2020 wars Corona, heute die schlimme Weltlage.
//
Holding on to #hope can feel like a little miracle sometimes. In 2020, it was the pandemic; today, it's the sorry state of the world.
A close-up of a splintered tree stump in a verdant woodland. The stump, with its rough, jagged edges, stands prominently in the foreground. Attached to the stump is a small, almost rectangular stone painted in blue. On the stone, the word "hope" is written in golden letters, and below it, there is a black caterpillar adorned with golden dots. The background reveals a lush forest, filled with green foliage and dappled sunlight filtering through the trees, creating a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.
TODAY ~ Choose an attitude of Gratitude over a complaining spirit; being critical, negative, or cynical. Now, it's time to get busy with Enjoying an Amazing life🌹
Dream a bit more,
Sometimes it is all we have,
Dream a bit more,
See a world not quite so sad,
Dream a bit more,
So the clouds may be parted,
Dream a bit more,
Watching the light break the darkness.

This resonated with me today. I'm going to do my best to make those around me and those I'm connected to (that's you!) a little bit happier, despite gestures wildly in all directions! We can do this! #optimism#yougotthis
Reddit post: A friend had a really positive take on feeling powerless. Text of post: Was talking to a friend recently about the anxiety and stress I’ve felt the past couple weeks over the current political climate and I voiced how I felt powerless to do anything, but compelled to do something (so a catch-22). He had a take I thought really helped.
He calmly explained, we as individuals don’t have the power to enact change on a global scale, so making yourself crazy over trying to do something big doesn’t help. However, we can impact our inner circle.
The hope is that if we treat those in our immediate radius well and make their world a better place, they’ll in turn impact their inner circle in a positive way, leading to positive rippling effects in society. It’s essentially just a cycle of good karma.
I know it’s a little naive, but it helps me to feel like I can control things more than before and gives me hope
The Bright Side: Why Optimists Have the Power to Change the World by Sumit Paul-Choudhury, 2024
The Bright Side makes a vital and transformative new argument: that optimism is not only the natural state of humanity, but an essential one. Without optimism we would never have survived the unpredictable – and often hostile – world we evolved into.
Yet optimism is not reserved for times of extremity. Its benefits manifest throughout our everyday lives: our relationships, careers, bodies and minds. And it will play a critical role in overcoming the challenges of the twenty-first century.
In this book, astrophysicist-turned-journalist Sumit-Paul Choudhury offers practical suggestions on what it really takes to be an optimist today and, in doing so, provides a powerful manifesto for hope and a much-needed new perspective on our prospects. He shows how, by embracing action, imagination and possibility, we can find a path to the bright side, even – perhaps especially – when the future seems dark.
Both realistic and revolutionary, The Bright Side is a guidebook for troubled times that will make you re-evaluate your habits and outlook.
