We are hiring for a senior developer role in Ireland. Systems programming in Golang and Python, Linux only, mostly open-source. The team is located in Europe and the East Coast.
We are looking for a smart person who's able to work in a team, challenge technical decisions, but also own their mistakes (and learn from them).
On Fedi I am not public about who I am or who I work for, which makes this a bit complicated. Hit me up if the pitch sounds interesting.
Disclaimer: At the job, using AI is encouraged when it makes sense, it wouldn't work if you are angry with all LLMs.
OK this is the longest of long shots and will only mean anything to #irish folk or even #dublin (ers)…anyone got ANY idea where I could get my hands on photos of DART TRAIN INTERIORS FROM 1980’s?? Not finding anything much online. Building a paper diorama of a train carriage from this era for a film project. Any leads gratefully recieved! #train#rail

Live map of bus services in the #UK and #Ireland on Christmas Day, 25 December 2025, at around 8:40am. Bus services are largely suspended. #London and #Dublin shut down completely, with only a few local operators and airport coaches running limited services.
A dark-themed digital map of Southern England and South Wales from bustimes.org shows live bus locations represented by various coloured, numbered icons. The icons are clustered heavily around London, Reading, and Bristol/Cardiff, with scattered buses across the Midlands and South Coast. Most bus markers are white, blue, or red, each containing a specific route number such as 802, 172, or RA1. The background map is minimalist, displaying major city names like Birmingham, Oxford, and Portsmouth in faint grey text, while the sea is a solid dark charcoal colour. In the top right, there is a search bar and map controls, and a zoom prompt appears in the top left. The overall view provides a real-time snapshot of public transport activity.

The National #Transport Authority is to amend the alignment of bus route 80 in #Dublin, #Ireland, following customer feedback. Introduced in October under BusConnects Phase 7, the service will merge with route 130 and extend along the north quays to O’Connell Bridge, Eden Quay, and onwards to Clontarf, keeping a 10-minute peak frequency. The new route will improve connections to Luas Green at O’Connell Street and DART at Connolly, and is due to start in Q2 2026.
A temporary version will operate from early 2026, running from Liffey Valley to Chapelizod via the quays, crossing the Liffey at O’Connell Bridge and continuing through College Green. The NTA said the changes address early performance issues and customer requests for better quayside connectivity.
Construction of a new walkway from Chapelizod Bypass to Chapelizod Hill Road will also be fast-tracked as part of a wider BusConnects scheme. https://www.nationaltransport.ie/news/nta-to-amend-bus-route-80-alignment-in-response-to-customer-feedback/
#Dublin Bus has reached a milestone, with women now making up 10% of its workforce for the first time. The announcement accompanies the 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report, which shows a 13% rise in female representation, including a 16% increase among bus drivers and 15% in the Executive grade. The mean gender pay gap narrowed slightly to -1%, now favouring women, while part-time and temporary roles also saw shifts in favour of female employees. The report highlights 10 women from across the organisation, reflecting its diverse workforce. Dublin Bus remains committed to fostering inclusion and encouraging more women to join and progress. https://www.dublinbus.ie/press-releases/10-and-rising-dublin-bus-marks-progress-on-gender-balance

Established by the Gaels during or before the 7th century, Dublin is the capital and largest city of Ireland. There is so much to see that we provide several self-guided walking tours of Dublin. How do you like it? #Dublin#Irelandhttps://backpackandsnorkel.com/Ireland/Day2/#52

Guess who misremembered having 25 seconds per slide and instead has 15 seconds per slide on Monday?
FML! :)
Goodness, I hate formalistic presentation styles like Ignite. But don’t worry, I’m breaking the form three times in the talk – including starting with a minute of silence for Gaza (that’s four black slides and 1/5th of the 5-minute talk), a transition (ok, it’s a 15-second transition, but still), and a live demo (yep) – and using that to demonstrate the case that we do not have to accept the rigid confines of the status quo, that resistance and sabotage are always options, and that the way things are is just raw materials for the way things can be. That said, constraints are also good so the reduced slide duration will only make my talk more impactful if I edit it down right, it just means more work… and more than one thing can be true at the same time. ;)
