I've got a bunch of fun projects to share soon, here's the first: "Forever Peanuts."

Styrofoam peanuts never do seem to go away, do they? So I thought it would be nice to make them even more permanent.

I melted E-waste hard drive cases and household waste to make these lost-foam aluminum peanuts during our last Otis Street Arts Project aluminum pour.

They will debut in "Future Finds" at Bathers Library in Oakland CA, opening 1/17 5-8PM. https://futurefinds.cargo.site/

Four metal peanuts on fabric. Slight variations are visible in them, such as a tighter or looser "grain" from the original foam; so, too, can you see a cleanly cut metallic edge where each peanut was cut from sprues during finishing (a hand done process)

Here we go again... U.S. President Donald Trump says he will hike steel and aluminum tariffs to 50% starting June 4. Imports of both have been taxed at 25% since March 12. "Foreign-made steel and aluminum is used in household products like soup cans and paper clips as well as big-ticket items like a stainless-steel refrigerators and cars. The hit back Wed at Trump’s & tariffs w/its own levies, announcing tariffs on billions of dollars’ worth of products, including bourbon & motorcycles, while warning of further retaliation.
The 27-nation bloc said its 2-stage response would target ~$28B in US exports. The announcement of the European measures came at the same time Trump’s tariffs took effect.
