“Dinge die mit ‘I’ beginnen oder so aussehen” / Starts with or looks like “I”
The Brooklyn Tower, nicknamed “Sauron’s Tower” by the locals, makes a very tall “I.” Seen here with its very own “I” (Eye) of Sauron, courtesy of a nearby traffic light.
Photo of a traffic light on “red” suspended in the foreground, vertically aligned with a black supertall skyscraper in the far distance among some shorter buildings. Some leafless branches push in from lower right. The photo is in black and white except for the red of the traffic signal. The effect is intended to evoke the image of Sauron’s tower from the “Lord of the Rings” movies, with a giant glowing eye floating above a foreboding edifice.
A night-time look up at one of the most iconic landmarks of modern architecture. Two towers rising into the darkness like futuristic giants, connected by a skybridge suspended high above the city. A place that truly impresses – especially after dark.
Happy Friday all and thank you to someone in Atlanta who picked this print of an Atlanta landmark - did you know this is Atlanta's oldest surviving skyscraper (although it would not be rated one by today's standards)? 💚💙
Digital artwork looking down a street that is framed by trees on either side of the street. A "Flatiron" style building dominates the scene but is dwarfed by the generations of newer buildings surrounding it.
Photo of the Bank of America Tower in Manhattan, taken from street level looking up. The exposure is turned down so that most of the image is dark — except for a brightly sunlit triangular plane of the building’s facade of glass windows, looking like a narrow, downward-pointing dagger shining in the shadows. The sun is reflected at the midpoint of the triangle’s right edge.
Photo of a sunlit high rise building taken from the top of a yet taller building. Around the building, bluish windowfronts of further buildings are visible. On the street below, a person can be seen, casting a long shadow.
