Well on #BlueSky and #Threads you'll find wannabe influencers that look for a marketshare and zombies who look for their preprocessed, low-effort high-dopamine contents.
Calling on all #computer#geeks#nerds ; crazy old cat lady here, comp keeps shutting down out of nowhere. I work remotely so this is no bueno. It has happened 2x today, 1 yesterday. I have an 'applied computer science' degree so I am great at photoshop and suck at everything else. Any help appreciated
Anyone heard of Fortect.com software? or got another one?
+++Edit update Paid for the Fortec service watched it work seem legit. No crash since will update if it does.
Retro.pizza is a nerd culture Mastodon server where we strive to uphold the values of the fictional heroes we admire: to value diversity like the X-Men, to be as kind as the Doctor, to defend the weak like Optimus Prime and fight against fascism like Princess Leia.

A few hours ago I put the finishing touches on this one. The last few months I have been busy doing several really complex commissions in a row and I took a break from them to make some artwork for myself before starting the last commission. The title of this one is 'Vision from the Onyx Quest.'

So whilst Firefox OS had the most "#accessible"#Development#tools (literally using #Firefox for it and having every #App as #WebView|s / #HTML5+#JS5+#CSS3 files in a container), they didn't even sold us said devices, making it a worse flop than #UbuntuTouch which at least still gets some devices made that support it...
And #nerds like myself are far from the "#consoomer#Normies" for whom stuff that isn't on shelves at Staturn/MediaMarkt, BestBuy, Walmart, ... doesn't exist. I'm used to importing #tech that I want!
We techies really are nerds living in our own little bubble. Every time I talk to friends outside of IT, they just laugh at the things we take for granted. In our world, it’s completely normal to assume that everyone has their own domain, self-hosts everything, avoids anything proprietary like it’s the plague, and probably has a dozen side projects running on some self-built server in their closet.
But then there’s my friend, a mechanic, who finds this absolutely hilarious. To him, it’s like expecting every car mechanic to not only have their own repair garage at home but also to manufacture their own tools and, while they’re at it, maybe even start their own car brand. It sounds ridiculous when you put it that way - but to us, that’s just how things should be!
Hello to all out there ...
