@w3c workshop on Smart Voice Agents (Feb 2026, virtual) is 27 Nov 2025!
Smart voice agents need clearer use cases, stronger #interoperability, better #LLM -based interaction, and improved accuracy, #accessibility, and multilingual support. Broader concerns include device coordination, #privacy, #security, regulatory gaps and emerging business models.
Having spent some time working on XMPP Interop Tests, and having read the XSF blog post about the Dutch NTA 7532 standard, I put some words together about why the Interop project has some specific value in this space.
Dutch healthcare is developing the NTA 7532 standard for secure chat. We believe XMPP is a natural foundation: open, secure, interoperable, and proven.
The XSF invites Dutch stakeholders to collaborate and explore how XMPP can power secure, future-proof healthcare communication. https://xmpp.org/2025/10/towards-secure-and-interoperable-healthcare-chat/ #XMPP#DigitalHealth
XMPP enables hospitals, GPs, and care providers to exchange messages securely across systems - with local control and no vendor lock-in.
It’s the open, federated model healthcare needs for safe and seamless communication. #Interoperability#OpenStandards
At the October 2025 "W3C in Europe🇪🇺 " meeting,
@simone,
@w3c#security lead, discussed digital identity standards in Europe and related security challenges. He outlined the move from centralized to federated and decentralized identity models, supported by W3C technologies like #WebAuthn, Verifiable Credentials, DIDs, and the Digital Credentials API. Key challenges include #interoperability across EU states and protecting privacy and human rights.
Snapshot of the video recording of Simone Onofri's presentation showing a slide about one of the challenges we face, globally but particularly in Europe, is the development of technologies that respect security, privacy and human rights.

The service is available both through a web interface and an API, allowing users to convert CTI data easily. The web UI also gives users the option to share or keep private their conversions for further review or collaboration.
Especially interesting for me is the use of #Rust: about 80% of the code is shared between the platforms now. This is thanks to #UniFFI allowing us to write native Swift/Kotlin code on top of a solid Rust core.
I want more news from Georgia country, so tried to follow @civil[email protected] but no such thingy. The manual feed of flipboard is barely updated, for understandable reasons.
They have an RSS feed - https://civil.ge/feed but I can't follow or even open it at Mastodon.
So I am confused a bit on how to proceed.
@mat I think probably Meta's motivation originally was to establish trust and accountability for their new Twitter replacement where they had none. So there is every chance they will change their minds I agree.
📢 Curious about Baseline, developer surveys, or the web platform's evolution? And how individual #developers can get involved and make their voice heard?
