Pickup is a huge part of ultimate in New York, and is open to anyone who would like to play!

*Survival programs are open to non-cis men, in a similar vein as many historically women's colleges. This includes but is not limited to trans, non-binary, gender nonconforming people, and cis women. The name Survival comes from the first women's division club team in NYC, formed in the fall of 1982.
McCarren Mondays
Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall
Location: McCarren Park Track
Time: 7-10pm on Monday Evenings
Play: 7v7 mixed and/or open, subject to weekly change
Play Level: Intermediate thru Advanced

McCarren Mondays, is one of the best (and longest-running) pickup games in the city!
This pickup runs three seasons (spring, summer, fall), and has run on some winter weeks as well. We require registration for each season's event. Drop ins are welcome, but you must register as a floater. The fields are lighted turf, and there are often 2 games running simultaneously during the busiest times. Please bring a white and a dark. USAU membership + waivers and registration fee payment are required prior to participating.
Registration Fee: PWYC pricing + membership fee.
Membership Fee: Free to all current (paid/waivered) USAU Members. You can become a USAU Affiliate Member for $18 per calendar year (2024 rate).

USAU Membership is annual and allows you to register for any DiscNY event throughout the remaining calendar year. Please have your USAU membership ID ready for when you register.

Astoria Park Pickup & Goaltimate
Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall
Location: Astoria Park Track
Time: 8-10pm Tuesdays or Thursdays (season dependent)
Play: 6v6 mixed
Play Level: Intermediate thru Advanced

Fun, friendly pickup open to all skill levels. Good attitude and teamwork valued over individual skills.
This pickup runs three seasons (spring, summer, fall) and requires registration for each season's event or as a floater on a week-by-week basis. This is not specifically a beginner clinic group, but usually there will be players on the sidelines willing to help with basic technique. Defense usually plays basic person defense with a sideline force. On offense, ability to set a stack, and throw forehands and backhands is useful.
Expectation that we will be playing full field 6v6 last-back style pickup. Depending on numbers this may change but the goal is to give opportunities for full field play. This location also often has Goaltimate set up as well!
The game is played in the newly renovated turf field in the middle of the track, south end of Astoria Park. 10 min walk from N train to Astoria Blvd, free parking lot for drivers, or curbside Citibike docks.

Seasons: Winter, Spring, Fall
Locations: Harlem River Park Turf - 128th and 3rd Ave (Fall and Winter) OR Prospect Park Parade Grounds (Spring)
Time: 7:30-9:30pm Mondays (winter), OR 8-10pm on Wednesdays (Fall & Spring)
Play: 5v5, to 7v7 depending on the week, DoW and DoC only
Play Level: Intermediate thru Advanced

Don't let the winter blues get you down! Spend a couple hours on your Monday nights saying heck no to a soporific lifestyle by playing 7v7 competitive ultimate. You'll be surprised by how much you start looking forward to Mondays. Full season registration or week-by-week floater registration is required.
A note about the skill level requirement of this game: This pickup has worked best as a space to build on existing skills and challenge oneself. If you're brand new to the game, please reach out and we can discuss how to get you up to speed (couple nights of game observation/rules review and throwing practice, etc). If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out as well. This is not to deter anyone, we just want to set reasonable levels of expectations about the game level. We welcome everyone!
