As DiscNY continues to grow as an organization, we continue to grow our contact lists as well. As a result, we've officially outgrown our current plan with Mailchimp, our mailing list provider! This is a good thing, it marks a significant expansion in our org's reach, and we plan to continue this growth through 2026 and beyond. It does, however, mean that we're transitioning away from what would rapidly become a very expensive new Mailchimp plan.

Dear DiscNY Community,
DiscNY is an organization that relies on city provided fields and is privileged to have developed relationships and has funds to go through official channels to secure field space for our programs. That said, NYC is constrained with field space and balancing many folks using and sharing space. Our use of the fields in conjunction with our firm belief in equitable access and being good neighbors comes with a need to use the spaces in a respectful way. We continue to explore how “permitted space” connects to larger structurally-embedded obstacles in the communities we play in.

This past summer, DiscNY sponsored a gender nonconforming+ working group to update our guidelines for gender inclusion. The proposed guidelines were then released to the community for input through this working document and reviewed again by the working group.
