DJ Khaled has given us many “major keys” to live by, and apparently, another one of them is to give back. The DJ and record producer turned social media maven has taken to Poshmark, a retail resale app and website, to sell pieces from his and already-famous 9-month-old son Asahd’s personal closets.
More than 250 items have been listed so far — everything from everyday sportswear to custom pieces worn for special events — for as low as $20. Over half of his closet has sold, but there are still plenty of options to get a piece of the pie while simultaneously donating to a good cause.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit his “Win More Music” campaign with Get Schooled, a nonprofit organization aiming to increase high school graduation rates and encourage success in college. It also gives middle and high school students interested in careers in the industry the chance to earn music studios in their schools.
Pieces up for grabs include his custom purple silk printed bomber (listed for $1,800) worn in the “I’m the One” video alongside Chance the Rapper, Justin Bieber, Quavo, and Lil Wayne, and Asahd’s blue infant Gucci suit worn at the 2017 BET Awards. There are also a slew of affordable sportswear items from brands like Champion, Adidas, BBC and Rocawear.
With this venture, the 41-year-old joins megastars John Legend, Dwayne Wade, Lena Dunham and the Kardashian/Jenner clan in his endeavors to sell gently used items in the name of a good cause.
