Wippit

Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2026 Last updated: July 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wippit Systems LLC ("Wippit", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the wipp.it platform and related websites, applications, and services (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who We Are and Our Roles

Wippit provides a hosted platform for building and operating websites and web applications.

In short — who owns what. Data your Tenants store and manage through the Service ("tenant data") is owned and controlled by the Tenant. Wippit does not own tenant data or use it for its own purposes; where it hosts the service, it processes and stores that data only on the Tenant's behalf and instructions. Data Wippit needs to run the platform and the Network — your account and billing data, the WAS identity data (Section 2), Network relationship records, and operational logs — is controlled by Wippit and is the subject of the rest of this Policy.

2. The Wippit Network and Wippit Access Service (WAS)

The Wippit Network is a federated environment that connects Tenants, their services, and users. The Wippit Access Service ("WAS") is the identity and authentication facilitator for the Wippit Network. Privacy First is the guiding principle of the Wippit Network: WAS is designed to hold as little about you as possible, to protect what it does hold with strong encryption and safeguards kept as secure as current technology reasonably allows, and to keep you in control of who may communicate with you. This section explains, in plain terms, what data WAS involves.

2.1 What WAS is and the identity it holds. WAS gives you a single Wippit identity across the Network. To browse or search the Network, you need only a user identifier and credentials. When you sign up with a tenant, you provide identity information — your name, and your email address and/or phone number. Your name goes to the tenant for its own use; your email and/or phone are provided to WAS to establish and recognize your single Wippit identity and to enable sign-in verification and the notifications you allow. WAS stores these securely, as described in Section 2.2. Aside from this identity information (and the relationship records in Section 2.7), Wippit does not require your preferences or other personal details in order for you to use WAS or the Network.

2.2 Identity resolution and secure storage. To recognize you, verify your sign-ins, deliver the notifications you have allowed, and let you view and update your details, WAS stores your email and/or phone. It stores them securely — protected with strong encryption and safeguards kept as robust as current technology reasonably allows; no method of protection can be guaranteed absolutely or indefinitely. To recognize you as the same person across tenants (so you are not duplicated) without exposing the raw values in everyday lookups, WAS also derives a matching identifier from them, so that the same email or phone is recognized as yours. Wippit acts as a controller for this identity information and uses it only to authenticate you, maintain your single Network identity, and deliver notifications you have consented to — never for advertising, interest profiling, or unsolicited contact. Because WAS holds your actual details (protected), you can view, correct, update, or delete them at any time (see Section 10).

2.3 Tenant-collected information is controlled by the Tenant. Beyond the identity information above, a Tenant may separately require additional information (such as your preferences, a delivery address, or payment details) as a condition of providing its own services to you. You provide that information directly to, and at the request of, the Tenant — because you want or need something from that Tenant, not from Wippit. That information is collected and controlled by the Tenant as controller, under the Tenant's own privacy notice; Wippit does not receive it for its own purposes and processes it only as a processor on the Tenant's behalf where applicable (see Section 1).

2.4 What is shared at access time. When you access a Tenant's service, WAS confirms your identity to that Tenant (for example, that you are an authenticated Wippit Network user, together with your identifier). WAS does not disclose your email or phone to a Tenant unless you provide them to that Tenant directly or otherwise direct us to share them. Recognizing you as the same person across the Network does not, by itself, reveal your details from one tenant to another.

2.5 Illustrative example. Suppose you sign up with a neighborhood store to use its services, giving it your name and email; then, separately, you use the Wippit Network to find a local restaurant and sign up with it using the same email. WAS recognizes you as the same person and links both under one Wippit identity — so you are one user, not two — by matching a derived identifier from your email. WAS stores your email securely so you can verify, receive allowed notifications, and manage it, but it does not collect the store's or restaurant's other details about you (such as your orders, preferences, or history), and it does not reveal the store's details to the restaurant or vice versa.

2.6 User privacy and no spam — discovery is user-initiated. Protecting your privacy is a core principle of the Wippit Network. Discovery is pull-based: tenant services appear only when you search for them. Wippit does not use your personal information to send you promotional messages, to advertise tenants to you, or to build advertising profiles, and we do not permit tenants to use the Network to spam you. Tenant listing information (such as a tenant's services, categories, and markets) is business information the tenant provides in order to be found by users who are searching; it is not used by Wippit to promote the tenant on its own initiative. Where a tenant chooses to be promoted, that promotion affects only how its services are ranked or featured within search results — never your privacy, and never through unsolicited contact.

2.7 Following a tenant — opt-in communications you control. Because discovery is pull-based and we do not spam you, a tenant can send you notifications only if you have opted in by choosing to follow that tenant. Following is a consent you grant, and you can withdraw it at any time by unfollowing the tenant, which stops the corresponding communications going forward. A tenant you follow can reach you through the Wippit Network at your Wippit identity without needing your email address or phone number; if you have separately given the tenant your contact details, the tenant may use those under its own privacy notice (see Section 2.3). Wippit does not use your following activity to build advertising profiles, and does not share your personal information beyond what is necessary to deliver the notifications you asked for.

To operate the Follow feature — to deliver the notifications you requested and to honor your follow and unfollow choices — Wippit maintains a record of the follow relationship: your user identifier, the tenant you follow, and related status and timestamps. This relationship data is part of the Wippit Network infrastructure, is held by Wippit, and is used only to operate the Network; it is not used to profile you or for advertising. When you unfollow, the relationship ends and the record is updated or removed in accordance with Section 8 (Data Retention).

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide:

3.2 Information collected automatically:

3.3 Information from third parties:

4. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

AI features. We may use AI to provide and improve the Service. We do not use your personal information to train third-party AI models without a lawful basis or your consent.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Service); our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service); your consent (where required, such as for certain communications); and compliance with legal obligations.

6. How We Share Information

We share personal information only as described below:

We do not sell personal information for money.

7. International Data Transfers

The Service is operated using infrastructure located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions that may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we implement appropriate transfer safeguards.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Customer Content is retained per your subscription and may be deleted after a reasonable period following account termination. Wippit Network relationship records (such as follows) are retained while the relationship is active and are removed or anonymized within a reasonable period after you unfollow or your account is closed. We may retain aggregated or de-identified data, which no longer identifies you, indefinitely, including to analyze and improve the Service.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and tenant isolation. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

U.S. state privacy rights (e.g., California/CCPA-CPRA and similar laws): you have the right to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Because we do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, no opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" is required, but you may still exercise the rights above.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@wippit.systems. We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by law. If your request concerns information you provided directly to a Tenant (see Section 2), please direct it to that Tenant, who controls that information.

Deleting your Wippit identity. You may delete your Wippit identity at any time. Because WAS authenticates you across the Network, deleting your identity removes you from the Wippit Network — WAS will no longer authenticate you, so you will lose access to the Network and to any tenant services you accessed through it. We delete or anonymize your WAS identity information (such as your stored email and/or phone and any derived identifiers) and your Network relationship records (such as follows). Information you provided directly to a tenant is held by that tenant under its own privacy notice and is not deleted by deleting your Wippit identity; to remove it, contact that tenant (see Section 2.3).

How to submit a request. Email us at support@wippit.systems with your request and enough information to verify your identity. We will respond within the time required by applicable law (generally within 30–45 days). Exercising your rights is free unless your requests are excessive or repetitive, and you may use an authorized agent where the law permits.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service (for example, to keep you signed in and to maintain security). We minimize non-essential tracking and use aggregate, privacy-respecting analytics. Where consent is required for non-essential cookies, we will request it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

12. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by applicable law), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@wippit.systems and we will delete it.

The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services that we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy and update the "Last updated" date, and where changes are material we will provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
