Right. Anti-electoralists assume the energy spent on elections would go towards other types of organizing when in reality the people interested in elections doesn’t overlap with people interested in other things.

I think of electoralism less as an either/or and more of a yes/and type of problem.

If you are a toddler your exposure to the internet is Ms. Rachel and other baby shows. I don’t think humans are learning to be mean from that, but yeah parents are a big part of it.

It’s just really frustrating and I think wrong to boil this all down to material conditions. Life experience showed me that people have held wildly different views despite having the same class position. There are people on Medicaid who hate “hand outs”. Giving that person a more stable prosperous life isn’t going to make those thoughts go away!

What I meant by invoking Mao is that we need a similar “cultural revolution” here like what happened in China. Some people just have to be eliminated. I understand why “authoritarian” measures are needed and I embrace that now. I’m not one of those naive liberals who think we can “unite”.

I ultimately want to finish reconstruction, end the slave owner bloodlines and give industry to former slaves. Give the means of production to people who actually deserve them.

I don’t care how dialectical that is because I don’t believe the fully dogmatic ML line works in the US. We need something different. I don’t care if the US splits and the South becomes a pariah, I just know I hate these people and their culture, their values, and their upbringing so much. They have turned me into a mess and ruined my mental health where I have a small pill cocktail to not completely lose my head. It’s tough dealing with daily life.

Yes, there’s some nice people down here but in general I am cautious around white people especially the older ones.

I would like to understand how to manipulate parenting and this culture to turn it away from the old testament bigotry and towards some sort of empathy, but it feels like everyone has gone in the opposite direction.

When I was bullied starting in kindergarten for being “weird” (aka undiagnosed autism) where did those kids learn to be so mean and cruel? They were too young to be exposed to all the propaganda and this was before home internet was common.

I truly believe our species has this baked in and as leftists we need to shape humanity to grow past it. People are selfish and greedy but capitalism encourages that behavior.

But Really I just want the bigots to go away, leave trans kids alone, and stop demonizing people I care about. If Republicans stuck to the less taxes stuff I wouldn’t have radicalized. They made me who I am today.

I’ve learned from many years of being around these people that many of them are just hateful disgusting leeches at the end of the day. I guess they have some brain damage or something that causes them to be hateful and selfish and total dicks to whoever the “out group” is today. There’s no converting them, no way they’re going to see our views, and no way they’re going to stop hurting others just for the thrill of it.

It’s us or them.

Is there some agit prop or something I can do in my Christian community to snap people out of it? It really seems to me that Christianity itself is a huge part of the problem since it is so easy to be twisted by bigots to justify anything they want. And frankly most of these churches are tax scams and not actually useful for the community. I consider Christianity the largest cult in existence and the most “normalized” one because of its size and influence.
