Linux•New Patches From Valve Bring AMDGPU Power Management Improvements For Old GCN 1.0 GPUsEnglish
241·18 hours agoAt this point Gabe Newell (Valve CEO) should tell Lisa Su (AMD CEO) to move aside and step down cause he and his team at Valve are doing more work for AMD’s software/drivers than AMD themselves as far as I can tell anyways.

12·18 hours agoThe one that I will probably never forget is Metropolis (2001): How Capitalism Produces Fascism by Chumpy.
It demonstrates and explains why authoritarians like Trump try to enrage the populace. That and it shows how capitalism inevitably creates fascism.
I probably won’t forget this till I bite the dust.

AMD@lemmy.zip•AMD vows to fight for gamers as DRAM shortage sends GPU prices skyrocketing — Radeon GPU prices have already surged over 10%English
21·2 days agoI’m skeptical whether AMD will commit to providing a reasonable prolonged price point for their GPUs.
Like
TechpowerupZhiye Liu from TomsHardware said, if AMD chooses to commit; they could use the current market as an opportunity to regain marketshare from NVIDIA as Jensen has definitely exited the market with their unreasonably priced cards.

3·2 days agoBurton and Butler said they would love to be present when the bird is released back into the wild after its rehabilitation.
For Butler, he said the episode is a reminder for people to properly dispose of their fishing nets, so that birds and other wildlife don’t get caught in them at the landfill.
As for the rescue itself, he said it felt awesome and he would “do it again and again.”

lmao thanks😂

THE POLICE PROBLEM@lemmy.world•With more ICE raids happening at a very faster rate, what do you think of self-defense and community defense organizing)?English
6·7 days agoI’m in favor of taking @TropicalDingdong’s approach, unity with community building similar to Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding where you reconnect humanity with each other.

Technology@piefed.social•"AMD & NVIDIA Abandoned This Segment" | Intel Arc GPU Factory Tour with SparkleEnglish
3·7 days agoAs much as I think Intel’s CPU’s are shit,
watching this gives me some hope for entry-level dGPUs / open source budget options.
As much as I’d like the marketshare to be 11% I’m quite skeptical of this counting.
Until StatCounter can provide details on how the heck they’re determining the percentages I’d personally recommend against using their stats.
Currently for now I’d recommend using Steam/Valve’s user percentage counter as their breakdown provides more clarity.

Also the price in US is significantly worse once converted for Canadian markets.

While I personally don’t believe in the existence of gods or any supernatural beings, if others want to believe in it I think it’s fine.
If people encroach on other’s choices that’s where I’ll personally draw the line.
- aka don’t force others to make the same choices as yourself. Don’t become Microslop.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI insiders seek to poison the data that feeds themEnglish
412·9 days agoIn addition to poisoning with bad data, I’d recommend adding logic gates where both recipient and sender tests each other in the definition and understanding of trust and consent which is a major thorn against the corporations, CEOs, and conservatives.

If this is true we’re slowly making Fallout New Vegas a dystopian reality.
We got Putin starring Caesar,
Grok starring Yes Man,
Trump starring Mr. House,
and most importantly you starring the legendary Courier.
