Technology@lemmy.zip•QWERTY Phones Are Really Trying to Make a Comeback This YearEnglish
7·5 days agoI’ve bought the Clicks keyboard for my iPhone 16 but was unhappy with it being a huge brick while in that case. And the effort to swap cases often keeps me from using it.
Looks like they’ve heard my prayers because they’re now releasing a MagSafe+Bluetooth slider keyboard - which also brings a small power boost. I hope this is going to be as good as it sounds.

4·11 days agoThis probably won’t help you much, but Apple Mail has this feature regardless of the server.
Will be interesting to see whether they’re going to introduce it outside of the US.

6·14 days agoI hope you’ve edited and then deleted all your comments before closing the account? There are nice scripts for that and it’ll devalue Reddit if there’s less useful information on there.
Check out GL.iNet products. They’re all based on OpenWrt with a more beginner-friendly GUI on top. (LuCi can be installed via a few clicks.) And very affordable. Some can be flashed to vanilla OpenWrt as well.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Wondering if running a single user Lemmy is an overkillEnglish
14·15 days agoI did it for a while but my system was constantly busy and there was this controversy about the image cache and possible CSAM which then prompted me to switch to using the flagship instance. Haven’t tried any of the alternatives, though.

Technology@lemmy.world•Question about car hotspot and apple car playEnglish
7·22 days agoThe problem is that wireless CarPlay works via WiFi. And your car only has 1 wifi module. So, it’s either providing a hotspot or wireless CarPlay. You could try whether it makes a difference connecting your phone via cable.

4·23 days agoIt’s 3 guys on 2 motorbikes going around the world. Beautiful landscapes, a few complications at border controls, crazy traffic in India and at least one of the guys always complaining about getting too little sleep in the second half. Not the movie of the year, but I still liked it - £7.41 well spent.

I believe the Merge button was removed on some recent update. I can’t see it anymore either.
I’ve never received any info about whether my suggestions were actioned on. And I haven’t checked (can’t remember which ones I suggested).
You need to decide on one master item where all others are to be merged into. Copy its URL.
In the left column at the bottom is a link to edit entries. If an entry hasn’t had any reviews/comments yet, there should be a merge button at the top right (in the edit screen). Paste the URL and merge it.
If it HAD comments/reviews, click the “Suggest edit” button and select “merge” and paste the link of the destination item. Then, it’s up to the admin to have it merged later.
The original sources are not, of course. But Kagi News are AI-summaries. However, because every source is linked, you can easily search the original articles for more details.

While I would have preferred the BlackBerry Classic style of keyboard because I think it looks cooler, I must admit I didn’t have any issues with the keys, their clickiness or finding them blindly. The keyboard types really awesome.
My main issue is the muscle memory from my BlackBerry days which had the Shift key at the bottom where the Clicks has the 123 key. But that’s getting better the more often I use the Clicks.
