When you see all the top start-ups are all “we do this, but AI”, it’s obvious we are in a bubble.

AI is buying billions on credit, backed by no equity.

I’m unemployed (thanks, AI), but I’m going to spend half of my savings on shorting the stock. go big, or file for bankruptcy.

While I’d wish you all the best in shorting those stocks I strongly advise against it. The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent, as the saying goes.

We’ve all seen Tesla, we should all know by now the stock market doesn’t reflect reality.

Oh it very much reflects reality. A reality that most retail investors have absolute shit for brains as a collective whole. There’s lots of money to be made in markets like these, especially with lots of volatility. You just can’t follow any sort of traditional logic, and you have to have a risk appetite as wide as the Grand Canyon.

OpenAI is fucked, no doubt about that. Both Nvidia and Microslop has retracted their hundred billion dollar deals with the company. But Nvidia is still selling their hardware to datacenters, and Microslop has doubled down on AI, they just want to do it in-house.

Question is whether OpenAI collapsing will take the rest of them with them. Perhaps the fact that the biggest player folds will cause investor fear over AI in general, but I’m not convinced, investors seems to be pretty moronic and shortsighted.

I mean, the 3 biggest AI companies:

      • “Let’s make CSAM!!!1!!!ONE!!!” -Grok
      • “I agree with you. No matter what your say. Now, watch this ad” - OpenAI
      • “Like our garden? Great! You’re stuck. Oh, and I hallucinate like a middle schooler trying mushrooms for the first time.” - Gemini

It’s hard to see how this tech becomes ubiquitous beyond as a Google replacement (which is dangerous enough as it is). ML has plenty of worthy and profitable applications but the whole LLM thing being forced into our daily lives… Not happening. Hard to justify paying more than $10 a month for LLM assistant and w ppl already skeptical of enshitification at a visceral level, I don’t think ppl will tolerate any ads or capitalist Jedi mind tricks

Which will take down the US economy much harder than 2008, much closer to 1929.

Shows how we learned exactly fuck all in 100 years.

That is my main fear right now. That the oligarchs will prop up ai and it will never fail, the economy will just continue to stagnate for decades

Now that the U.S. government is involved, they will be getting bailouts like the big banks if they fail.
