I made an announcement post today that I'll be shutting down my gemini capsule soon. I'm letting my .xyz domain expire and it'd be too much hassle to bring it to my .com domain considering I'm really not active on gemini these days. And all my posts from the last few years are on my website anyway.

When I shut it down it will have been 5 years since I started it. End of an era for sure.

To all the other "computer people" going to see family during the holidays:

When they complain about their iPhone being messed up, the option you're looking for this year is "reduce transparency" under accessibility settings.

You're welcome in advance.

About to start a fun challenge where I work on migrating more stuff to my new server while suffering from sleep deprivation from a crappy sleep last night.

I just rolled credits on Skate Story. Amazing game, probably my GOTY. It's easily going in my list of all time favorites.

I paid ~$100 for my PC's RAM two years ago. The same kit today isn't in stock, but would be somewhere between $390 and $450 judging by similar models from the same manufacturer.

My Samsung SSD has also doubled in price from ~$100 to $200.

I'm ready for this AI psychosis to be done with already.

What if anybody visiting my blog could ping my phone by pressing a button?
What if they could also attach a message?
Would I be stupid enough to even give them a way to directly send me arbitrary files?

The answer to these questions and more coming soon.

Last thoughts on the Valve hardware announcements from today.

It really feels like Valve is one of the very few companies today still doing cool stuff in tech for the sake of it instead of just "number go up".

I've been following leaks and data mines pretty closely and I'm still surprised they revealed all three hardware projects today. They've been busy.
