Going to nerd trivia this evening. Last week our team got last place. Hopefully do better this week.

Was driving down the freeway last night. Heard a loud bang. Low tire pressure warning started going off. Luckily was able to get off the freeway. Got towed to tire dealership. Hopefully this goes well.

Went to my buddies house to play some poker today. Lost $8 not horrible. Always a good time to hang out with the dudes.

Wife: Garbage disposal is broken. If you can't fix it the contractor will be around tomorrow. Sure he can take a look. Me: I got this. Youtube University, Ahh okay could be one of 3 three things. It was the third thing. Wife: OMG good job on the sink. It's the little victories in life.

I miss the days when companies put effort into DVD menus. The 4k Blu Ray menus are just text. Play and Language.

Seems like everyday going onto the web it just feels more exhausting compared to the day before.

Been checking out Gears of War : Re-Something on Xbox Series X. Game crashes every time I am dealing with the lure a berserker section in Act 1.

Been working on building a patio. I find myself hitting stop gaps of being too tired to finish it and lack of motivation. Rainy weather this weekend feels like slowing me down mentally even more.

Watched Jurassic World Rebirth the other day. I felt like I was watching the video game evolve get turned into a movie. Can’t really recommend the film.

Wish some of the greenery I planted last year was coming up better this year. At least the vegetable garden appears to be doing well.

I really dislike when people say “Can we double click on that topic.” How do you click on spoken words?

The wife won the discounted ticket lottery to see river dance this evening. I remember my parents being in love with the PBS special. I’m not sure if the lord of the dance still tapping it for this show. Hopefully be entertaining regardless.

Every time I go up to Canada I can never browse mastodon on cellular data. Not sure what’s up with that.

I must say Fedora 42 is looking pretty spiffy for later this month.

I got an alert that my terminal emulator app had an update. It was 117MB update. It finished in seconds. I was thinking about Diablo II Stress Test application got released. It was 100MB in size as well. Took almost 24hrs to download that on Dialup back in the day due to such high demand.

Looking forward to playing D&D this evening.

Seems like every time my phone goes to another country. I appear to no longer be able to access social.lol. So far it hasn't worked in Japan and now Canada. While roaming on Bell's mobile network. Oddities around the world.

Finally back up to maintenance doses on allergy shots again. Next visit going to ask if wife can get a dog anytime soon. Oh well will continue taking my sisters dog out on some weekends.

Getting pretty excited for Thanksgiving this week. Got three turkeys thawing. Going to deep fry two of them. Been some trying times lately but looking forward to getting together with some cool people. Stay safe out there everyone.

One thing I find myself missing about Japan was how good that cup of coffee was at 7/11. Nothing here in the US seems to match.

Went to Japan. Brought back a souvenir of Covid. Wife and I were masked all the time except for meals. Still testing positive after 12 days. Don’t feel crappy anymore. Stay safe and well everyone.

Was watching Red Dwarf this evening. Seeing the opening you have listed painting the outside of the ship with wet paint in space. I don’t think that would work.

My wife asked me to go to Nordstroms with her to pick out shoes. She’s asking me for opinions. I said babe I wear size 17 wide men’s. I have no value to add here. I will smile and nod. I get the choice of maybe 1-2 pairs online. I gave up being picky about footwear decades ago.

They ask me every time I go in for allergy shot. What's my date of birth. When I get asked my brain goes blank. For some reason my brain thinks this is the most difficult question to comprehend. Is it facing my own age that does this. Or just brain focused on different things. So just takes time to render out a new path for this answer. But then sometimes I can barely recall my own phone number.

Was listening to a random "You might like this" playlist this morning and Elton John came on. Got mentally transplanted to 5th grade. The teachers had a talent show. My teacher sang karaoke of Elton and evoked so much cringe. Our class got some mockery on the playground for a week or two after that.

Was looking in my RSS Feed reader. Been using Newsblur for years. Started with Bloglines then they got bought by Ask and then killed so went to Google Reader. That ended and been with Newsblur. But crazy to see how many blogs I follow that haven't been updated in some cases a decade or more. Kinda miss personal blogs that are not behind a social network login.

Was listening to a podcast talking about phones being removed from schools. Made me think of Junior High and how the students had access to a single payphone. Think I used it once to call my parents to let them know was going to be staying late at school to make up a meal I forgot to cook for my home economics class. Wonder how much that collect call ran my parents. Ahh the 90's.

Every time I check out the local feed on mastodon it’s always pleasant. Open up bird land and think well that was annoying.

The weekend has arrived. Going to attempt smoking some more ribs this weekend. Smoking in the rain maybe.

I remember finding out about omg.lol when I was on my 40th birthday trip to Costa Rica. Been a pretty cool service and coming up on a year of using this service. Most of the time posting into the void of the internet. But something about it just seems better compared to all the other social networking services.

Was heading outside this morning and saw it was dumping rain. Thought hey my grass and micro clover seeds are going to love that. Felt less guilty about forgetting to water them last night.

Was driving with the wife last weekend. Daft Punk came on the playlist rotation. She said "I know you like them but I really don't." I was rather baffled that someone could not like Daft Punk's music.

Been dog sitting my sisters dog while she is off enjoying Maui. Whenever I leave the house he pulls out all my hats and then decorates the living room with them. Not sure if he’s being artistic or some form of canine protest for going to the grocery store.

Finally giving the 4th matrix film a viewing.

I keep having thoughts about building my own NAS. Seems like a fun project. Just need to sell the idea to the wife.

So apparently a winter storm flood watch is coming to town. Wonder how the grocery stores banana stockpile is going. Always the first thing to go in a Seattle grocery store

Nice to be home. Enjoyed seeing all the humpback whales doing the whale thing in Maui.

Enjoying a lovely vacation. Spending this evening looking at the beach. Moon lighting up the ocean. Enjoying a cigar. Nothing to complain about currently.

Been trying to get my 2004 PowerBook G4 in some working order. PRAM battery was a bit of a pain to find a replacement for. Got a ssd to ide adapter for the drive. Now need to get an operating system on that thing.

Was thinking about downloading electronica music on dialup back in the day. So many Tiesto remixes when they were not. 20 min download to be disappointed.

Was starting the car this morning. Was a sheet of ice. Get going and check engine light comes on. Turn around hook up reader. No error codes. Freezing rain is a mystery.

Another Christmas, another viewing of Die Hard.

Maybe it’s because I didn’t sleep super well. But I am just not feeling super motivated today. A nap just sounds lovely.

Currently I appear to have six Mastodon clients on my phone. I feel like I am having major commitment issues. But does feel like the old days of Twitter. Seeing which one I like the best.

Oppenheimer 4K Blu Ray is coming tomorrow. Excited to experience it again. Had to run up to British Columbia to see it in real IMAX last July. Much smaller screen at home. 🧨

So they announced there will be an announcement about GTA 6. Maybe hell is finally freezing over.

Well what a fun adventure. Heard you can get some better load times on an Xbox One X if you swap the hdd to an SSD. Well in the Xbox preview program you can’t install the OSU1 from usb. Since it’s older than the hardware. So had to DD the HDD to the SSD and format and go again. Bit annoying but now have an SSD in the old Xbox one X.

Been thinking a lot about the people of Maui. I've spent many vacations there and it's really sad to see.

Playing D&D outside this evening. We have 5 bug zappers going. The odor of cooking bugs isn't something I would classify as a pleasant odor.

Was wondering if there was an easy way to generate easy pURL’s. Then found the API. Looking forward to getting that going.

Getting allergy shot today. Going to probably be a sore sleepy dude this afternoon. Sacrifices so the wife can have a dog soon enough.

My neighbor has had a rake laying in the grass for a bit over a week now. I’m surprised nobody has stolen it. I sent them a text letting them know. Also offered to hold onto it for them if they are out of town. I ponder starting a move the rake countup page. But then also think I should focus on other things besides a rake.

I keep thinking I should really attempt stand up paddle boarding.

Ahh Friday evening time for some dungeons and dragons. May the salt marsh creatures fear my grung.

Northern Nevada is rather empty. Had to take a quick break after 3hrs of driving.

Going to see Penn and Teller at the Rio tonight. Have been wanting to do this for a long time. Excited and nervous at the same time.

Was listening to music today. Beastie Boys - Intergalactic came on. Had a flashback to listening to the radio and being annoyed that I missed hitting the record button. Then having to wait hours to for it to come on again to record it. All to make a sick mix tape for a lady.

About a month ago had some of warm weather. Pressure washed all the moss off the driveway. That left some dirt residue. Finally got the dirt off the driveway. So much time with a fun squirt gun.

I hope there is enough of this fine percolated bean juice to make the day tolerable.

Was looking at pressure washer accessories. Saw foam canons. I want one. But do I really need? Could be fun and nice to avoid going to the car wash.

Been feeling rather odd. But have been enjoying playing some fortnite lately. That zero build mode is great.
