It sucks hearing about an upcoming cyberpunk game in an article describing layoffs. A heist shooter in a cyberpunk world actually sounds like a fun idea. It reminds me of the Syndicate reboot from 2012 which had similar missions. That game didn’t deserve the “Syndicate” name but it was a fun game in its own right. I liked it, anyway. And that’s despite being an application recently described as “a pedophile hellscape for kids.” Well, it can now add another similar accolade to its collection, as the entire state of Louisiana has announced it’s suing Roblox, calling it “a breeding ground for sex predators.”

*Updated: 8/1/2025 4:18 p.m. ET:* In a statement to Kotaku, a spokesperson for Valve said that while Mastercard did not communicate with it directly, concerns did come through payment processor and banking intermediaries. They said payment processors rejected Valve’s current guidelines for moderating illegal content on Steam, citing Mastercard’s Rule 5.12.7.
