They operate all day from Redland Bay to the South Morten Bay Islands. They also go to Moreton and Stradbroke Islands. They go from Cleveland. They may go from Eagle Farm too but I’m not sure about that. I think the Whitsunday Islands might have them too, and other Islands around Queensland.

I’m not being a smart arse but how do you think goods and services get to various places.

There’s also a dedicated Ambulance ferry, ( it carries people tho not an Ambulance ) and a Police barge that carries police vehicles to these Islands.

Semi trailers with building materials come over on barges, as well as dump trucks and energex crews. I’ve seen a semi with an enormous swimming pool on it, and full houses also get delivered. Woolworths deliver too. Thousands of people live on these Islands.

So yeah cars, vans, trucks etc need to get here. We have a school bus here too. It didn’t drive over.

Have you heard of Fraser Island ? Many 4WDs get on car ferries to there also. And there are resorts over there that need goods and services.

I see you had a priceless Egyptian artefact over there as well but it’s now been handed back I believe.

Redland Bay harbour car park had a couple too, did you hear about it?

I just don’t know anything about Queensland. I got bashed there once. Spent two weeks laid up in a bed, being dressed and washed by someone else during that time, waiting for the all clear from a doc that my kidneys weren’t shot from the assault. I’ve never thought to think about Queensland or Queenslanders much ever since. When the cops came to interview me they lost interest when I wouldn’t corroborate their theory that it was Aboriginal kids that did it. No officer, they were all white and all in flannel shirts.

I’ve managed to live here for quite some many years without being bashed at all! I mean I’ve done a few bashings, but was never the bashee.

Hey now, only if they do something to provoke it… Like look at me funny, or say something disparaging about One Nation, or try to tell me footy isn’t the greatest sport in the world, or be born in a different place than me.

Sorry to hear about your plight, and good of you to dismiss the cops. Well it’s not terribly unsafe up here, but bad things do occur at times.

May I ask where you live ? You don’t have to be specific of course.

We moved from Sydney to Adelaide. We don’t drive so it slipped my mind that car ferries are a thing and that people live on Islands.

Cool. But wait, “we don’t drive” !?!?!?!

And you don’t even consider cars or transporting goods, and people living on Islands ???

That’s some kind of solitary kind of existence going on there for sure.

There was no seating on the car ferries before, right? It’s years since my family was living on the islands, but I recall having to stay in the vehicle if I wanted any kind of comfort.

That’s correct. These are the brand new ones. ( Well A new one, unsure when the second one is due or already in operation. ) Heck there’s even a small cafe up there. The old ones are still running. Absolutely awful in the full sun. You can get out of your car and find shade, still not fantastic.
