You can transfer your Mastodon account to a different server if you would like. The process allows you to keep your follows, followers, bookmarks, lists, mutes, blocks and domain blocks. Your old posts will remain on the old server, but they will redirect people to your new account.

There's a complete step-by-step beginner's guide for how to transfer your account at:

➡️ https://fedi.tips/transferring-your-mastodon-account-to-another-server

It might seem a bit long, but it combines several processes into one guide.

Is there a tool to search in there?

Hi Jerry,

I have found a couple of groups by chance, accounts in @a.gup.pe domain.

I'm reading

https://github.com/immers-space/guppe/wiki/Guppe-Groups-FAQ

&

https://fedi.tips/how-to-use-groups-on-the-fediverse/

I guess I will see the groups appear in the pinned hashtag columns I have when they are active?

@jerry

I've found some interesting for me in the @FediTips curated list: https://fedi.directory/tag/fediverse-groups/ (you mentionned in an answer while I was looking into it)

  • (@)linuxphones(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)linux(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)gnome(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)steamdeck(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)ubuntu(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)infosec(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)rust(@a.gup.pe)

I'm also following

  • (@)linuxmint(@a.gup.pe)
  • (@)debian(@a.gup.pe)

for instance.

We can easily create new one mentioning it even if it does not exist if I'm correct.

That could interestingly complement hashtags, to avoid confusions (between windows and windows, or between rust and rust). I guess.

Hi all,

I'm trying to read conversations in all languages and the DeepL in infosec.exchange is great.

The trouble I have is that when I click on a message to read the conversation, Mastodon Web opens a new tab.
In this tab, it opens the source link (in other instances) where I do not have DeepL available.

Is there a tip I ignore to stay in the (https://infosec.exchange/deck) and read conversations herein?

Note: infosec.exchange is a Mastodon Glitch Edition server and I know from experience its behavior is different from the standard one.
Please answer ONLY IF you are sure.

Cheers.

@jerry @FediTips

Same for a single post.

The trouble is when I click on the timestamp to get to the conversation.

(in standard Mastodon Web, it opens it inside the deck).

For instance, in a pinned column, post from Jan Sobotka (currently at the top).

PS : I'm using .

@FediTips @jerry

THAT is the (obvious) solution : click on the post.

Thanks
