Locomoto is a beautiful and thoughtful game in so many ways, but I am always so impressed and pleased with the way it lovingly handles design. Aside from the "nudge" feature (moving a piece slightly within its block) there's also such detail on tabletops!!

The goal of this art swap is to try something new and get silly with it! Make art that isn't perfect, that isn't technically 'correct,' something fun to make. It doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort.

People will register for it, then the registrants will get matched with someone else. My goal is to give all participants about a month to make something. Then in the week of April Fools' Day, we will all share our work with the recipients and, if wanted, our broader social spheres, like posting to the public.

That's fair! Basically, if you were to participate, you send me a message at one of the contact avenues in the first post, and you say, I want to participate in the art swap, here are the kinds of things I want to receive.

I then take your name, and the names of all the other people who register, and put them in a spreadsheet. I'll then contact people back and say, hey, how about this person, who is requesting something like this? So for you, I would find someone that seems like a good match, ask you about it. If it's not a good match, that's fine, we'll re-match you.

If you say yes, you make your piece, and then in the week of April 1st, you share it with your recipient. Many artists like showing off their work publicly, so if people want to share publicly, that's fine! But they may prefer to keep it private, so that's also fine.

Around the same time, you will also get a piece from the person who matched with you.

Some art swaps do bi-directional art swaps: A and B are making art for each other, so they trade directly. Some swaps do more complex matches, like A makes art for B who makes art for C etc. I'm not sure which one I'll do for this Art Swap, it will depend on how many people actually want to participate.

The person being supported by the Hell Project messaged me late yesterday asking for a touch-base today. I texted back a time that would work. No response. I called at that time. No answer. This is after about a week of waiting after I called them and proposed a touch-base and they said 'tomorrow' and then never called me.

LOL. Yeah salted butter is standard for us! Idk why but it just is, and many recipes expect it when they say 'butter', but also some recipes ask for unsalted butter because they hate fun and flavor. Many Americans have an erroneous perception that unsalted butter is for sweets, which is false, salt is integral for sweets. Good luck getting that into the public consciousness though.

You said you are playing 'Is this seat taken?' I started playing it yesterday! (sick and needed something chill to do) I think I am like halfway through the game already XD (just left London) I think it's super fun! Puzzle games are just a bit too easy (or far too hard (looking at 'baba is you' here)) for me, so I hope the levels will get a bit more challenging. But I like the story and the ideas the game brings. Game Design is just deliciously good overall. And it's super cute :3 I also played potioncraft for a long while until I had the philosopher's stone, but it's getting so immensely tedious at one point. I am still looking for one single really well done Shop Owner game, but sadly haven't found one yet. Maybe I will try Resettear again, it was the best so far and it's a lot of years since I last tried it. I heard amazing things about Fields of Mistria and am very excited for the full version one day (I am not good with early access games) I loooove Farming Sim games, but I have a constant need for new stuff so I can't replay any of them. And I barely ever completely finish them XD I just hyperfocus for 100 hours on them and then lose interest. But those 100 hours are glorious.

Oh, if you're looking for a good shop game, have you tried Moonlighter? It's not PURELY a shopkeep game but it's REALLY excellent, pixel graphics + dungeon crawling + beautiful music and audio and animation. Your PC 'moonlights' as a dungeon explorer and you craft/sell your spoils during the day.

I think I'm almost done with it too, but every few levels I have to stop because I'm no longer having fun lol. Same with Potioncraft. I just got the Stone and successfully made it but my friend says the Salt is worse lmfao.

Fields of Mistria is truly lovely, it improves upon the Stardew formula in a way that makes my brain very happy, AND they just added some shit I haven't played yet (!) so I'm excited to give it a go. It's interesting to me that you have trouble with early access games - the craving for new stuff is part of why I like them! Early Access runs the gamut, of course, but Fields of Mistria is fairly polished for an EA game, the team is parceling it out in a nice way. I object to it on an ethical basis in some settings, but… if it gives money to indie devs and helps them make their games, I'll play along.
