@FediThing usually I see these profiles that use a young woman's profile picture, some generic slop description about positivity or similar, with lots of emotes. Posts are clearly generated from some kind of LLM as well, but related to the vague topics of the profile's description. There was a wave some months ago, now it seems they're back.

I just watched a youtube video by Taylor Lorenz and some dude about how "nobody's posting anymore" and it was cringeworthy. It's how about social media is just professional influencers, "hyper-curated", with slop and ads ruining things. Nobody's doing casual posting anymore.
It's almost comical how they suggest newsletters and substack as alternatives (or "do your own blog") when the is right here. People doing the casual stuff, the healthier kind of posting. 1/x

been always fantasizing about a zombie movie where it turns out, after lots of zombie slaughtering, that zombieism can be cured, so all the zombie killers look like real assholes suddenly.

turns out, Warm Bodies, in a roundabout way, is that movie. it's also "twilight but with a zombie", i appreciate every attempt though.

    @_elena @laurenshof I was appalled, but not surprised. He constantly fails to understand some basic concepts, because, at least to me, he seems to be living in a constant hustle trying to balance making a (good) living and being a proper journalist.

    I don't know the tech specifics as to why it's happening but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to uninstall all the @matrix apps from my devices once again. This is not the first time this happened.

    There's a wave of spammers that notify all the users in a room with some awful images, both of gruesome deaths and CP.

    Happened twice today, in the @archlinux room and @thunderbird as well.

    Why I can only see this shit happening on Matrix, I wonder? How does moderation work in there?

    After looking more into it, the data selling situation is pretty worrisome. Either in good faith or bad faith, Mozilla is just not good at its job at this point, therefore making them untrustworthy in my eyes.

    I've been giving a shot at a few alternatives, and I think I'll stick to .
    I can easily rebuild my workflow with it.

    would be better but it breaks too many things for my taste, and honestly I don't have fucking fingerprinting levels of paranoia.

    Don't you think it's about time to stop cloning corporate apps into the and maybe focusing on building something better? I mean, it's a great exercise but it could be so much better.

    Asking this to myself as well.

    I don't feel I have the skills ready yet, but that would be a priority of mine at some point. Or I'd gladly collaborate on something original and out of the usual attention-exploitative patterns.
