@psychopoesie when my mum died, I didn’t contact Centrelink until after the funeral - and then discovered Centrelink already knew because the death certificate had been issued. I never did work that out. Perhaps because the certificate was issued the day she died by her doctor and he then lodged it?

Dawn at the Cataratas do Iguaçu. A view of the falls from one of the observation points on the Brazilian side of the UNESCO World Heritage site. The Brazilian falls stretch a curtain of water from the bottom left of the frame towards the centre where it meets the Devil's Throat. That part of the falls is not visible, only spray above it, but the Argentine side of the falls stretch back across the frame to the right across two levels.

I was watchin' the footy, right? The telly said to stand for the national anthem, and I thought here we go again. Just get to the bloody game! But then, over the speakers came a sweet sweet sound. One we all love. The sound of cheap greasy sausages and burnt onion in shitty white bread. The sound of bunnings warehouse! I immediately got to my feet and stood at attention to salute the anthem and a tear welled up in my eye. You bloody beauty!
