Pinterest has sacked two engineers for writing a script that tracked layoffs. The tracker created an alert for employee names in communications tools such as Slack being removed or deactivated. A spokesperson told @ this was "a clear violation of Pinterest policy and of their former colleagues' privacy." Pinterest recently laid off around 700 people, with chief executive Bill Ready saying he was "doubling down on an AI-forward approach."

OH! I love this so much! Honestly, the best part of is seeing what everybody else creates. So many different ideas from the same challenges.

Yeah, I'm still exhausted from this year's, but I'm also already looking forward to next year's.

Ah! I see it's ! I'm an artist working with code, data, mixed media, and ink on watercolor paper.

Much of my inspiration comes from Science, Math, and Nature.

Genuary 20226 Day 1: "One color, one shape."

This was a challenging one for me, since I usually use lots of color. I went with an "*" as the shape and played with transparency, size, and movement.

Genuary 2026 Day 7: "Boolean algebra. Get inspired by Boolean algebra, in any way."

It did say "in any way". So I went with circles from a venn diagram and got the colors by randomly sampling pixels in an existing image: the red flower drawing I used yesterday.

Instead of a crazy 'rule', I decided to do something a little crazy in the image: I sampled and inverted colors in pixels according to rule 30.

For this one, I sampled pixels in a photo of myself wearing an Axolotl suit at City Hall. I did this in two runs: one at very low resolution and then another in slightly higher resolution in just the area with me in it.

New inks arrived today! The one I tried is called "blushing mushroom", and I drew a floral pattern with it. The shimmer is tricky to catch on camera, but it's really lovely.

In solidarity with Minnesota, I'm experimenting with the Minnesota flag as a motif in today's drawing.

I'm also working on a better representation of the flag. Maybe to make stickers to give away? It's a little challenging and freehand isn't working for me. Once I figured out the star, it got easier. Tested a bunch of different inks, and I think I have a good combination now.

I'll post more when I make more progress.

For today's drawing, I'm going with a comforting floral pattern in one of the inks I used for drawing abstract Minnesota flags yesterday.

I've also made progress on drawing a Minnesota flag with my inks. It's much more precise than my usual approach to drawing my hand, but it's getting close...at least for now. Each component is cut out, another difference from my usual drawings.
