Having a tremendously difficult day, chums. My instinct is to clam up and go all internal and self-destructive, but that is a very stupid idea and so I am telling you instead. I'M HAVING A REALLY HORRIBLE TIME AT THE MOMENT AND TODAY IS PARTICULARLY BAD. If you are moved to, I wondered if you had any good news or funny memes or pics you might like to offload onto an Internet needy. LOVE YOU. ❤️

@TheBreadmonkey I have been working on my raised garden bed. It's not as perfect as I had hoped to make it, but it seems like it will be good enough to grow some peas and taters and beets, and that's all I really need, right?

STONE OF FAREWELL (1989)
Acrylic on Canvas - 21” X 46”

The main problem in doing what is called a wraparound cover—art that wraps around from the front to the back of the book—is in trying to avoid pieces that look like two different paintings stuck together. 1/4

@noondlyt I’m at the point where I don’t think this is a position of hope. It might not fall the way think or want, and that much is probable, but it can’t continue on the way it’s been. There has to be a return to mean. It’s a law of nature. The status quo is unsustainable.

The good news is, from my perspective, is that I am in a position to guide serious private investment into this very arena. There is money to be made, which is how most things happen.

Not all progress is bad.

Just completely wiped the Windows partition from my desktop and did a fresh install of Bazzite Linux.

Yes, this is the 3rd re-install of Linux on this PC—the previous run was a trial—and Bazzite passed with flying colours.

Now I’ve fully reclaimed my entire 1TB hard drive, with everything critical backed up to a 2TB external USB SSD.

I had no problem with Windows 10 for a long time, but Microsoft decided my PC wasn’t “qualified” for Windows 11—even though it’s running a Ryzen 5, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 3080 Ti—and then cut off security updates.

I’m not throwing a perfectly good machine in the garbage. It works flawlessly. So Bazzite Linux it is.

105 done and DONE

Mud

Infinite mud

Just about managed to stay upright but quite a few others weren't so lucky. Went into the run today with a relaxed attitude. Was at an 80th last night and had a few beers and went to bed late, and was running with my wife who's still poorly and has sore ribs and back from coughing. However the effort it took to run on mud without trail trainers was immense. Like running on ice. If ice was solid and lumpy and less cold and brown. Like mud. Legs were on fire. But I'm thrilled to have finished. Now onto preparations for a belated birthday party for me - we've got a house full tonight for a fancy dress murder mystery! Should be tremendous fun. So I hope you're on track to have a super weekend and I am hurling all of the very best right into your stupid face! Have it! All my best all over you. Sorry about that. X

https://www.eurogamer.net/why-did-grand-theft-auto-never-return-to-london-as-a-setting-one-of-the-biggest-reasons-was-guns

Oddly, after reading this article in Eurogamer I started thinking: a GTA like game set in London, or Paris or some other city that isn't drowning in firearms is quite plausible. Emphasize brawling, knives, improvised weapons. Guns can be a rare game changer.

Not sure what Dan H was on about about larger than life characters. London has yobs, chavs, royalty, russian oligarchs, tourists, wig wearing government officials, absurdly old money etc. Lots of OTT characters

kinsale42 ,
@kinsale42@mstdn.games avatar

@beeoproblem the Yakuza franchise does exactly that, no reason it couldn't work for a GTA London

By now you know that Microsoft is now defaulting to saving new Word documents directly to OneDrive. I guess Excel will be the next inline. The cynical take is that this is incredibly convenient for them, especially if they plan on using that data to train future LLMs. Imagine paying for software only to have your data automatically funneled into their cloud. Plus, what happens when you're offline and need those files? Just use the LibreOffice and just say no to all Microsoft products.

Georgia’s Medicaid Work Requirement Program Spent Twice as Much on Administrative Costs as on Health Care, GAO Says

Republican lawmakers cite Georgia’s Pathways to Coverage as a national model for federal Medicaid work requirements that are set to take effect in 2027. A new report shows the program has spent at least $54 million on administrative costs alone.

I feel like most recent gay movies are about pretty, thin, fit young men struggling with some closet issue/struggling to pull someone out of the closet all while being shirtless and sexy.
