The gold market cap has always been the approximate amount of gold that has been extracted. While I don't think anyone can give you an actual precise number, the approximate number is pretty widely known and tracked as we extract more.

"His majesty the worm" uses a deck of tarot cards, minor arcana for players and major arcana for the GM. Combat plays as a sort of "poker game"

Looking for a super hero system recommendation.

Howdy. So I’ve been running a 5e D&D game live at a table and another one on foundry. Both groups kind of collapsed over the holidays and that’s fine. I want to try a super hero RPG. I’ve been looking at Masks but it seems kind of teen focused which I’m not into. Does anyone know if this system is more adaptable than ...

I really like the sentinels comics rpg - https://www.greaterthangames.com/pages/sentinel-comics

It's based on the sentinels of the multiverse card game, and has a really unique system. Basic low down - every roll you have die based on a "stat", a power, and your (or the scene's) status (green, yellow, red).

On a basic roll, you always take the middle die as your results. Powers might alter this or do something extra.

So for example, let's say you have super strength as a stat for a d8, a power die of a d6 for the power you're using, and a d6 for your current status (green). You'd roll all three of these and take whatever value is the "middle" result (so like d8 - 2, d6 - 4, d6- 5, you'd get a 4).

Powers might do something like "deal damage equal to the lowest die, but heal an ally for the middle die" or "deal damage with the highest die, but take a penalty equal to the lowest die"

Not gonna lie, "magic stealer" is a really bad name. What's wrong with the classic spellthief?

yeah, there was some database indexing issues, so we had to reindex it, plus the server needs to catch up on 3~4 days of fediverse activity. Hopefully things should even out. I'm not noticing too much slowness myself, though.

eerongal OP Mod ,
@eerongal@ttrpg.network avatar

Yeah, there was some indexing issues with some of the images when we migrated. Stuff had to be cleaned up, but i think we lost a number of thumbnails with those issues. It should just be mostly thumbnails that were affected of some existing stuff; I'm not aware of way to regenerate thumbnails outside of just uploading a new image.

Planning to migrate to a new host this weekend (12/12 - 12/14)

We will target migrating to a new hosting service this weekend. The site will probably be taken down sometime on 12/12/2025 to perform final backups from our current host and uploading to the new host. The weekend will then be set aside for migration on to the new host. ...

Just an update: after a few hiccups and a late start, its been chugging along; It's around 1/3rd of the way done, currently. Didn't get started until late yesterday, and the process died a few times, but its been running just fine most of today. If i had to guesstimate, it's probably gotten a good ~12-14 hours of run time to get to this point

@eerongal. (How did you tag people in here?)

Yeah, you can tag people, you have to use @username and it should popup a context window on the regular UI, i believe. Like this - @roflo1@ttrpg.network avatar roflo1 - it will then normalize it into a link format that looks like:

i used aseprite to make all the art; I also tended to limit my color palette to era-appropriate colors, though i moved between different color palette limitations on some parts

eerongal OP ,
@eerongal@ttrpg.network avatar

i suppose i could make a version with a 'normal' font. Technically should only take a few seconds as i modify the styling, but its likely to mess up all the orientation/formatting of the document. I'll look into that later, thanks for the feedback!

eerongal OP ,
@eerongal@ttrpg.network avatar

This is extremely messy, but a quick job to just change the font style really fast. Lots of things dont quite line up, but its a start if this helps. I'll go through later and fix it up, and add it to the store links.

How expensive is "too expensive"? I have a boox note 3 and read TTRPGs all the time on it. Their color eink screens are really good. You can get the go series for 200~250-ish

https://shop.boox.com/products/go7

I can post a picture later today (busy atm) of my boox with a color PDF if you want to see how it looks

note that this is the air 3; its a bit more expensive than the go, which is the ~250ish model i mentioned above. The go is also only 7 inches instead of...i think 12 on this? They use the same sort of color eink on all their tablets, though

An FYI - our host is going out of business

I've just been made aware of this, but as an fyi to the community, our hosting company is going out of business. There's time for us to migrate hosting services, the final date is February of 2026, and they're available for us to assist in migration of our instance, but I wanted to share with everyone, as we might see some down ...

eerongal OP Mod ,

Hopefully it shouldn't be a big deal. I just need to find a new hosting service, and the migration should be easy. I have some time to figure it out, so I'm not too worried, just gotta find the right service.

Yes, actually. They're both different mixes of plutonium isotopes. Iirc reactor grade plutonium is far more stable than weapons grade (because blowing up is less desirable for reactors than bombs), and has some different properties when used.

Token help?

I am going to be running a Star Wars game on Foundry in a few weeks, and I need 6 tokens for six different BBEGS that I am going to plop in front of my players all at once. Two of these are going to be very visually distinctive and impossible to create with any character profile generation tools I've found online.

How do you guys handle character tokens for unique-looking characters? I do not want to resort to ChatGPT if I have other options.

@eerongal@ttrpg.network avatar

I use this site to turn things into tokens - https://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/

It takes whatever image you plop into it, so at that point you can turn anything you want into a token. As far as what to make the images with, I'm not entirely sure, since the ask is kinda vague. What are you looking for in the tokens?

since youve mostly gotten your answers on the basic questions, i will add some other information here for you as FYI. If you're wondering, you can use regular old acrylic hobby paints for miniatures. It's going to take some extra work and a lot of mixing to get it the right consistency and will be a learning curve there.

If you're wondering if it's worth the money to spend on mini paints, that's going to be entirely up to your preference. Mini paints can be quite pricey vs regular old craft store paints. I would maybe suggest dabbling with regular paints and getting some thinner medium and see if mixing them works out well for you. If you find it too annoying/frustrating/not worth your time then get mini paints. Mini paints can basically be used right out of the bottle.
