@octade its an actual model of handgrenade that was getting tested by the OSS during the second world war. i saw they named it the beano and jumped on the name

it helps that its also just kinda weird, they based the design off a baseball because they thought that us soldiers would be more proficient at throwing those. had an impact fuse too so it really incentivised like direct hits which is really quite unusual for fragmentation grenades

got scrapped cause they had trouble dialing in the impact sensitivity leading to thrown grenades that didn't explode and unthrown grenades that did. then the war ended before they couldve entered production anyway
