I've read that it's more flexible in terms of "modifying" open source softwares (mainly photography) to have my own versions and simply has more freedom. Since I discovered these softwares I never looked back but I'm a Windows user my whole life.

So I’ve had a longstanding belief that colourimetry breaks pictorial depictions from the get go. The idea being that because the CIE XYZ system enforces an invariance in the transforms along the Y basis vector, that chrominance becomes a problem.
Here is a subset shot with a sample line down the vertical. The expectation is that due to sensor clip, the dominant energy should be highest in at least one channel in the clip region, and all other point samples should be lower. But…
