I disagree. Avoiding media because of certain themes is perfectly fine. I for example will not play games like Hatred or Nazi Games, no matter how good they could be.
It's the kind of themes they try to avoid which show how scared they are of everybody around them.

Did Hornet being a talking protagonist change how you perceive/play her in contrast to the silent protagonist in Hollow Knight?

I was just thinking about how some people say they want silent protagonists in order to self insert better as the player character. For me I rather want to have a good consistent story, no matter if the player character is pre determined or I can choose. And since Hornet talks in her game, we are able to learn more about this ...

Ich finde es irgendwie seltsam, dass in Deutschland eine Viertelmillion Menschen sich versammeln um den Nachfolger eines Diktators zu bejubeln. Ich wünsche den Menschen im Iran eine möglichst friedliche Umwandlung in eine wahre Demokratie, aber das so eklatant auf den gestürzten Kronprinzen gesetzt wird lässt mich daran zweifeln, das es wirklich funktionieren wird.

Und ich bin auch über die Anzahl etwas verwundert. Weiß da jemand mehr, ob die Teilnehmer vor allem Exiliraner auf Deutschland bzw aus anderen Ländern sind oder größtenteils Nicht-Iraner da waren? Irgendwie schwer für mich nachzuvollziehen ohne mehr Informationen dazu.

Zu erst mal würde ich dich bitten mir zu zeigen wo ich gesagt habe, die Demonstranten wollen eine Diktatur.

Ich habe gesagt, ich finde es befremdlich den Sohn eines gestürzten Diktators zu bejubeln. Und das der Schah ein Diktator war, wirst du ja hoffentlich nicht bestreiten wollen, oder?

Und das Pahlavi Diktator sein will kann ich nicht sagen. Aber ich bin absoluter Antimonarchist. Nur weil es eine Zeit lang gut gehen kann, wie gerade bei Spanien, ist das kein Grund eine Blutlinie an die Macht zu binden. Soll er Präsident oder Premierminister werden, damit habe ich genau gar kein Problem, wenn er so demokratisch ist wie du sagst.

Aber Monarchie ist auf lange Sicht gesehen immer negativ. Sieht man ja zum Beispiel gerade bei Norwegen oder Großbritannien, was da für wundervolle Menschen sich selbst in demokratischen Monarchien entwickeln können.

Und seine Wortwahl im Tagesschau Artikel war in etwa:

Ich möchte keine Werbung für die Monarchie machen, es soll das iranische Volk selbst entscheiden, was es möchte.

Das ist für mich nicht pro demokratisch, sondern wieselig. Nämlich mit der Hoffnung, vielleicht doch zum König gewählt zu werden. Und DAS werfe ich ihm vor.

Ich habe King in Yellow von Chambers von 1895 gelesen und ja... War jetzt nicht so das, was ich erwartet hatte. Als Inspiration und Vorreiter des kosmischen Horrorgenres habe ich gedacht, das alle Geschichten darin sich wie bei Lovecraft in einer Welt abspielen und sich um den gelben König drehen. Das ist aber nicht der Fall.
Nur rund die Hälfte der Geschichten sind übernatürlicher Natur, die andere Hälfte sind Romanzen. Weiterhin wird auch nicht eine gemeinsame Welt aufgebaut mit den Geschichten, sondern es wird meist einfach nur eine Horrorgeschichte erzählt und dann kann der Name König in Gelb darin vorkommen. OK zugegeben, das ist bei Lovecraft teils nicht anders, aber trotzdem kommen die Geschichten hier noch weniger miteinander verbunden rüber.
Also insgesamt nicht wirklich zu empfehlen in meinen Augen, außer man ist aus historischer Sicht an amerikanischen Geschichten aus dem ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert interessiert.

Meine Erfahrungen mit Kafka sind auch eher, das er ein Gefühl bzw. eine Stimmung beim Schreiben rüberbringt, weniger eine kohärente Geschichte. Der Prozess ist aber noch auf meiner Liste und habe ich bisher noch nicht gelesen.

Und deine Einschätzung zu Catcher in the Rye ist interessant und würde zum System in den USA passen.

Gerade für Mittelerde Fans aber wirklich zu empfehlen. Ich fand es faszinierend, Geschichten von Tolkien in unfertiger Form zu lesen. Welche Teile er schon geschrieben hatte und welche er noch offen gelassen hatte.

Anybody have any games they really liked on a first play through and then fell out of love with it later on? I'm going through it right now with the city builder game Workers and Resources. I've got 26 hours in it on Steam. Most of those hours came years ago when I first tried the game. I had a good grasp of it then naturally ...

For me it was Warframe. I adore the style of the game and it's lore. The gameplay and variety of the different weapons and characters gave me a lot of fun playtime. But the way RNG is used and how timed special missions are abusing dark patterns became more and more clear, the longer I played.

And at a certain point I realized the addiction it nurtured in me and I had to stop cold turkey and never touched it again afterwards.

I would also say: peaceful and relaxing music with a little similarity to Verdania. So a reminder to the green nature that existed before the citadel took everything over. A big contrast to the surrounding areas.

But even there wildlife doesn't mean peaceful, there is still danger for the player and pilgrims in general.

That's just how it works with every wax candle, it's the physics behind it. Beewax has an even lower melting point than Stearin, so it should happen the same if you put 20 candles next to each other.

The problem is that burning candles release heat. More candles close to each other -> more heat -> faster evaporation of the wax -> faster burning -> even more heat. But it's not happening from 3 or 6 candles, we are talking 15 or even more.

Humans fucked up Earth and engineered different solutions/fall back options and they all activate at pretty much the same time, leading to them interfering with each other and destroying the societies that managed to grow after the collapse.

And the music is simply great!

Ich habe das Kartenspiel Dinner Party gespielt, was viel Spaß gemacht hat. Es geht darum, möglichst viele bekannte Personen zu seiner Party einzuladen und jede Person hat spezielle, zu ihrer Persönlichkeit und Geschichte passenden Eigenschaften. So kommt es dann vor, das gestern zum Beispiel darum gekämpft wurde, das Charlie Chaplin an den eigenen Tisch kommt und neben Ada Lovelace oder doch eher Jack the Ripper sitzt.
War sehr unterhaltsam und wenn man die Personen etwas kennt, dann auch nochmal etwas lustiger. Die Erweiterungen mit noch mehr Personen habe ich zwar gekauft, aber noch nicht genutzt, da ich bisher erst mal die normalen kennen lernen will.

Den Entwickler des Spiels hatte ich auf der Spiel Essen getroffen und man merkte da einfach wie er für sein Spiel brannte und wieviel Liebe er da reingesteckt hat. Daher hatte ich dann da auch zugeschlagen.

Ouch, that ultimate is another Vindicta sniper. Got kills and got killed from that ult. On one hero it simply shreds the life points away on tier 3.

Well yeah, Venator is not a great survivalist, just a burst damage hunter.

But I sure as hell got some nice snipes on enemies retreating with low health.

First I check what kind of heroes are on my team to see if I go spirit or gun, if my hero allows both. Then I go depending on the the enemy lane. If there is a enemy hero with a good counter item, I go for that, otherwise I try to build my damage items in order to push the enemy team back. If I get hurt to much, I then buy more green items as fits to my character and enemy heros.

Oh and I forgot: if the enemy team is getting too strong, it's time to buy the counter items that disarm/silence/dispell/counterspell them, depending on what area they are getting too strong.

Normally I would agree, but this one does have really strange occurrences. First there is no camera feed, then the camera feed released is strangely missing exactly the time around his death. Like how many strange occurrences does it take for you to say: wait a minute, why is it so hard for them to prove everything happened as they said.

Ok yeah, that wasn't my experience at all with broodmother. What crest are you using? I used wanderer and spammed attack, which probably helped a lot against the small flies.

I did as well, as soon as I got it. My muscle memory from Hollow Knight could not get used to Hornets other move sets.

Naja, das Problem ist ja meistens das man in diesen Situationen auch ausweichen muss, da will ich beide Hände am Lenker haben und nicht noch die Klingel bedienen.

Ein laut gebrülltes "Vorsicht" wirkt da häufig Wunder. Außerdem habe ich nämlich auch gemerkt, das die Klingel von vielen Leuten nicht wahrgenommen wird. Entweder weil sie es ignorieren, nicht zuordnen können, wo das gerade herkommt, oder sogar überhaupt nicht mehr wahrnehmen, weil zu hoch. Menschliche Stimme wird dagegen meist sehr gut wahrgenommen.
