Joke asides, why would you open ports on your printer?

CarrieForle ,
@CarrieForle@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Could you elaborate more? My printer doesn't use internet at all and I would just plugg that into my laptop whenever I want to print.

The only reason you should ever cloud gaming is building your own cloud, e.g., with Moonlight, Steam Link.

Yes, I extensively used this but there was no button mapping to crest and I would still furiously mashing left key.

CarrieForle OP ,

Team Cherry probably just forget about these keys' existence. It's still better than nothing.

Not a theorist, but on the fifth question. I think 'my family' here just means White lady, Pale king, and Hornet. It would make sense if they were Godseekers or the shrooms (in fungal wastes), since it's explicitly told they shared a mind. We don't see anything like that in either game. Team Cherry is also very considerate with their choice of word. It would make more sense for White Lady to say 'my kind' instead if that were the case.

But either way. It's impossible to tell until we see another pale being that has no connection to the pale being we already know.

We do in Silksong! Hornet explicitly calls GMS a Pale being, e.g. in the dialogue with the Green Prince.

Guess I gotta do a refresh go of Silksong again 🫠

I looked at the dialogs again. And yeah our family probably just means pale being. Since Snail Shamans refer GMS as pale kin. The bugs of Hollow Knight probably view family differently than us.

On a side note, before your comment, I always thought the thing that is 'forever linked' is the Everbloom. That's what happened when you're not good at English haha.

Not sure about divergence, but there are definitely a lot more interesting posts now. I've tried fediverse (kbin) when the reddit API shit happened. I'm a gamer and there weren't many interesting gaming posts at the time so I returned back to Reddit like a week later. This time with the Discord bullshit I gave fediverse another try and it's so much better now. It's still not as many compared to Reddit but at least there are actual content I enjoy scrolling.

Did Hornet being a talking protagonist change how you perceive/play her in contrast to the silent protagonist in Hollow Knight?

I was just thinking about how some people say they want silent protagonists in order to self insert better as the player character. For me I rather want to have a good consistent story, no matter if the player character is pre determined or I can choose. And since Hornet talks in her game, we are able to learn more about this ...

Hornet being able to talk definitely gave us a lot more insight to the story and the world of Pharloom than HK for Hallownest.

On one hand it's fitting as Pharloom is supposed to be a living kingdom. But the biggest plus is I don't need mossbag to tell me the entire story to know what is going on. Hornet and other character will just tell us whilist leaving enough room for speculation and theory crafting.

Created an account on Stoat and Matrix. So far I prefer Stoat as it's easier and more intuitive to use.

CarrieForle ,

It's easier to use. Besides Matrix e2ee is opt-out, and lots of public room disabled that.

CarrieForle ,
@CarrieForle@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Opt-in approach is fine. With this implementation we can effectively ignore those crying about performance without disclosing their spec. We don't really lose anything.

Here's how to migrate your mods from r2modman to Cogfly:

  1. Open r2modman. Select your profile > Settings > Export profile as a file. This will export a .r2z file.
  2. Open Cogfly. Click Profiles > Import from file. Choose that .r2z file.
  3. Wait a few seconds for the profile to be imported. Then click on that profile.
  4. Enable all the mods (mods were off by default)
  5. Profit.

Note:

  • I did receive an error in step 2. I just deleted the profile and re-imported again. No error in the second time.
  • Locally installed mods (e.g., from Nexus) is not imported. You need to copy those mods into the location of Cogfly profile.

If you have a 100% save file. You can try Pantheon of Pharloom. It allows you to refight all the bosses and bindings like in HK. Right now this mod is the sole reason I keep replay Silksong.

You can also use skins by installing Customizer and CustomizerT2D. Unfortunately most skins are on Nexus so the you need to manually import them (btw I use Christmas Hornet and Second Sentinel Cogfly).

Some QoLs I use:

Does anyone actually use downdash though? I accidentally discovered it in my first playthrough but I never used it.
