Denmark spends 3.3 percent of GDP on supporting Ukraine. France spends 0.8 percent.

Yet President Macron claims "we will continue to do everything".

France has more than 400 LeClerc tanks. Not one has been delivered to Ukraine.

Poland has sent 350 tanks to Ukraine, including 14 modern Leopard 2A4s.

This man is all talk no trousers.

@randahl To be fair, France did send the Mirages (and some Caesars), but you still have a point. Macron's statements are often much tougher than his actions.

First Trump would make peace in Ukraine in 24 hours. Then that was changed to 100 days. Then that was delayed several times by two weeks. Then came the 60 day deadline. Then Trump changed that to 10-12 days, and then 10 days. And now that Trump and Putin have met — I kid you not — the new peace deadline is Christmas.

Republicans — all talk, no trousers.

The war with Russia has made bomb shelters a hot topic in Denmark. An investigation has revealed, that many communes do not have enough bomb shelters for all citizens.

While Ballerup Commune has a shelter space for each citizen, the small Læsø Commune has no bomb shelters, and many communes fall somewhere in between.

My commune Vejle only offers bomb shelters for 53 percent of our 122,000 citizens.

How is the bomb shelter situation in your country?

@randahl We don't have any in the Netherlands. The government's response (in general, not just to this specific issue) is this mantra about self-sufficiency, which comes down to 'it is too expensive, figure it out for yourself' 🤷

The US attorney for DC thanks Elon Musk and DOGE for providing names of those who appear to be stealing US government funds or are intimidating federal employees and promises an inquiry.

@w7voa I just finished Solzhenitsyn's 'Gulag Archipelago' and am still processing it, so I might be reading too much into it, but this letter has a really strong 'Great Purge' vibe.

Proton uses a trustless architecture. End-to-end encryption and zero access encryption means we cannot decrypt your messages and hand them over to governments.

Your privacy is mathematically ensured, and no election can change that.

@protonprivacy You "forgot" to mention that the header data (subject, sender, recipient) is not encrypted and claiming that you are politically neutral after you CEO endorsed a political party using the official account is not really convincing.

From Stanovaya: "Russia has not been a priority and is now regarded as a natural disaster. [...] there will be no strategic agreements. All of Putin's signals that the war could be stopped tomorrow if Ukraine accepts his ultimatum are ignored in the West." https://twitter.com/Stanovaya/status/1816772238441324925?s=19

Sorry for jump in, and please don't take this as an offense, but do you mean it is (at least partially) legitimate what the Kremlin is doing right now? I guess not, but using quotation marks allows this interpretation and it made me curious.
And about Putin's promise to stop the war if his demands are met: first he denied Russian involvement in the Donbas, then he said he wouldn't invade. Would it be rational from the West to believe him this time?

Szipek ,

@kevinrothrock
What would be the third option then? I don't really see how can the west reach any strategic agreement with the Kremlin if it can't take it at its word. Moreover, I think that ship has sailed. It might have been possible in 2014, but Europe can't risk such "negotiations" after 2022. There is little to no chance of a significant change in Russia's policies, which are unacceptable for Europe, so the second view seems to be the most logical to me.
