I spent most of my afternoon at the doctor.
My medical provider gave me her undivided attention. I feel better about how I feel. Everything that hurts has a fix. I picked up medicine and will wait for an appointment to stick a scope down my throat.
She also insisted that I attend six massage sessions.
I got home in time to watch the sunset with Summer. She says she loves a good massage and that I will too.
Summer is always right.

The setting sun was very bright. The clouds are red. There are fences and outbuildings in the fields. Dark trees way down the hill.

It was cold last night (well, about 0°C) and this morning one of the cats my hb usually feeds followed him home - obviously ready to deliver her kitten! She searched the garage of the building for a good place, my hb found her an old basket and put her first in the ground floor of the staircase, but due to the cold he just came and said he took her in the house. let's hope she won't fight with our other cats. The idea of her in the cold outside was not bearable.

is one of the days when I search for the official news in Jordan - so it was not just my feeling that yesterday the rain was unusually strong. It must have been much heavier in the south, though - and the next storm is expected on Thursday.

I should take more pictures of our cats. I was searching for a good shot of Lady and realized I hardly caught her in the last weeks, only when sleeping in my room. Lady. I write this with a heavy heart: the second day today that she did not show up for breakfast in the morning, and she was not home all day yesterday, which is unusual. May she be safe and come back home.

it is quiet outside - schools, banks, government offices and such are closed as the 25th Dec is a government holiday, so the Christians here can enjoy their holiday(s). Tomorrow, Friday, is anyway off.
Weather is windy and I think still under 10°C, so rather chilly, but still sunny. We expect more rain from Saturday.

Not so happy. Financially, 2025 was probably the worst year I had since I started translating for a living. I lost most of my long time clients - retirement, sickness etc. - and new ones are hard to find.
So I am on self promotion now - anyone here who wants his English book translated into German? No option for you? Talk to me. Most of my authors are glad for the additional income.

This moment, coming home to my late father-in-law - whom I loved dearly and who loved me like his own daughter. Sitting in the bus and seeing the street meandering uphill, past that old big tree and seeing him already standing on top of the house (flat roof), waiting for the bus. Until the bus made it to the place where it always stopped he had come down there and stood a bit aside, looking for me to step down. The look on his face ...

we had a visit from our vet. 6 of our cats needed to be vaccinated, it seemed to be easier to ask her here instead of transporting them all to her place. Also, she agreed to bring the cat she had treated successfully back here. The visit went well, only two of our cats were faster than we and will still need their injections.

I love books - and I love translating novels from English to German so more people can enjoy them. During the last ten years I acquired a lot of experience; I never counted but I am sure it was more than 100 novels meanwhile. Most are Regency romances, historical romances or mysteries, but I also translated several series of YA fantasy (I love my dragons).
If anyone would like me to translate their novel, ask me for a quote - I seem to have some time during this winter.
