Last year I started sharing our plan for the #Kungsleden on Instagram. This year I want to start anew on #Mastodon.
We hiked from Abisko to Nikkaluokta, and this summer we'll cover from Nikkaluokta to Kvikkjokk. Planning takes some time, for us, as we'll be 4 people... and 3 dogs.
We'll travel from Italy to Sweden by train, so the planning starts now, in February, by booking all the night trains up until Kiruna.

"Shelter!" is an initiative for free public overnight-shelters. I am developing it while studying M.A. #Gestaltung at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts #Bielefeld. There is also a project-website: https://shelter.apgw.de
I like to see many new public shelter-spaces and trekking-places and I want to build shelters together with you, e.g. on public meadows at the edge of cities.
That's also a bit egoistic because I like to experience self-efficacy while building it, and in the best case, make it experiencable for others, too.
Inspiration and motivation is the impressive culture of public fresh air #tourism in #Denmark. There are hundreds of trekking-places for up to two nights, often with wooden shelter-huts. And: You are allowed to place your tent beside of them, if they are already taken...

Hiking in Bieszczady Mountains in fall. It was a rainy and cold funny day, full of laughter and bad jokes 😅 We love such days, don’t we?

A person hikes along a rocky, grassy trail toward Chatka Puchatka atop Połonina Wetlińska in Poland’s Bieszczady Mountains, surrounded by windswept meadows and a sky streaked with clouds on an overcast day.
In my Top 3, one of the most stunning views in the island, Pico de las Nieves would be it. The highest mountain in Gran Canaria (1,947m), on a clear blue sky day one can admire in the same "capture" Roque Nublo, Roque Bentayga (two of the most popular landmarks) and Mount Teide (in Tenerife). Also La Gomera & El Hierro. Did I say majestic? 🤯
From there onwards an immense forest of pine trees one can hike out and about through different routes for hours to no end, enjoying nature at its best. Away from the sheer madness finding lots of peace and quiet while being overwhelmed by the beauty around us. Did I say sublime yet? 🥰

This is perhaps one of the most spectacular hiking routes I've done so far in the island. On the way up to Roque Nublo, through Ayacata, in the midst of the mountains and pine tree forests, you can see a road on the right side with a car driving through. All in all, showing rather tiny, so you can see how high up that trekking route is. The landscape, with no ocean to be seen, is just spectacular. Majestic, even. One can feel so tiny some times with such overwhelming powerful landscapes 😍👍🏻
A nice and relaxing hike during which I visited the Bucamante Waterfall (le cascate del Bucamante), in Pazzano di Sopra, Italy, then looped around Monfestino and came back to where I started
