My last New Year's resolution was to improve my art as much as possible and I would definitely consider my resolution kept. I've never drawn this much in one year. I usually have 2-3 hyperfixations at the same time but this year I was only hyperfixated on drawing because my skill development opened a deeper level of self expression for me that feels more satisfying than ever. Now I'm drawing whenever I can and when I'm not drawing I'm thinking about drawing.
My resolution for next year will be the same as last time. I already have my brain filled with ideas and an endless drive to create.
The image features a black and white photograph of a person singing passionately into a microphone while playing a guitar. The person appears to be deeply engaged in their performance. Superimposed over the image is a text that reads, "The older you get, the more devastating 'Cat's in the Cradle' becomes." This phrase is a poignant reflection on the emotional impact of the song "Cat's in the Cradle" as people age. The lyrics of "Cat's in the Cradle" by Harry Chapin are known to strong feelings about the passage of time and the changing relationships between parents and children.
