🇯🇴 The "Lost" City of Petra, Jordan. Carved into red desert sandstone cliffs in southern Jordan, #Petra is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Shaped by wind and time, its rock-cut façades stand as a reminder that even great civilisations fade.
For centuries, Petra was lost to the outside world until Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt “rediscovered” it in 1812.

UNESCO: Schweizer Jodeln ist immaterielles Kulturerbe
Als "schreckliche Jubelschreie der Hirten" wurde es schon im 4. Jahrhundert erwähnt - nun hat die UNESCO das Schweizer Jodeln als immaterielles Kulturerbe anerkannt. Es sei eine Kulturpraxis, die "Einheit stifte", hieß es im Antrag.
W 2012 roku Międzynarodowa Rada Koordynacyjna Programu "MAB" UNESCO włączyła na listę rezerwatów biosfery 20 nowych obszarów, w tym dwa transgraniczne. Jednym z nich jest Transgraniczny Rezerwat Biosfery "Polesie Zachodnie" obejmujący obszary w Polsce, na Białorusi i Ukrainie dotychczas funkcjonujące jako odrębne (krajowe) rezerwaty biosfery.

Leshan Giant Buddha, #China! 🪷 Built between 713 and 803 during the Tang Dynasty, it’s the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and the tallest pre-modern #statue in the world.
Construction was led by #Chinese Buddhist monk Hai Tong, who believed Maitreya Buddha would calm the turbulent waters that plagued the shipping vessels traveling down the #river (and it worked!).
Also a #UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sichuan province.

Tymczasem kilka dni temu Orderem Zasługi Berlina za całokształt wkładu w rozwój kultury klubowej stolicy Niemiec uhonorowany został #DimitriHegemann, założyciel kultowego klubu i równie ikonicznej wytwórni #Tresor. Decyzję o przyznaniu odznaczenia uzasadniono następująco:
'Jako założyciel Tresora, Dimitri Hegemann od ponad trzech dekad znajduje się w samym sercu berlińskiego krajobrazu klubowego, tworząc przestrzenie, idee i społeczności, które nieustannie inspirują nowe pokolenia.'

Kilka lat temu Dmitri rozpoczął cykl warsztatów mentoringowych mających na celu szkolenie ludzi chcących zakładać i prowadzić kluby. The imposing castle overlooking the old town. With its weathered walls and countless windows, it feels like stepping back in time. The historic center of Český Krumlov is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by the winding Vltava River (Moldau), which gives the city a truly picturesque charm. Wandering its narrow medieval streets, crossing the bridges, and looking up at the castle makes you feel as if history is alive.
