Przykre, ale prawdziwe.

the search for a decent public transport solution.

I've spent a while looking at this point and all the options I've tried so far don't work very well. I'm looking for an app, website or desktop program that has the ability to navigate using public transport. At the moment the best thing I've found is osmand but sometimes it just doesn't work, it will just spend ages loading ...

Looks like works very smooth. I will try it in real world. and on the other hand seam to not support public transport routing in at all.

we mapped 38ha in the local residential area, in total we found 410 cameras, with about 80-90% of those being ring or similar doorbell cameras. all of these pointing at the public sidewalks, all completely illegal. there is no way in this 'hood to move around without being tracked. people don't deserve the GDPR.

I imagine Bezos sitting at home and doing real-time tracking of individuals just based on facial recognition running on AWS.

fucking worst of all cyberpunk futures i hoped for. 😞

@nicotentin @everydoor @stf The mode for adding POIs (left button with the tree icon on the bottom menu) should be selected and the map should be zoomed in enough — then the points for surveillance cameras will be displayed on the map in the Every Door.

As I know, currently there are no programs, which could display information about cameras from OSM DB, only the beforementioned site 🙁
The @CoMaps or doesn't display this sort of information, even in some sort of layer 🙁

Bearbeitungen in brauchen tiefergehende Kenntnisse.

Here is what is missing in the popular based apps (, @CoMaps & @organicmaps ) from being a potential replacement for GMaps.

    1. Photos & Reviews are two most important things that are missing right now. @mangroveReviews and @lib_reviews are here to fill the reviews gap. , @panoramax are here to fill the photos gap.

    2. Crowdsourced Real time Traffic data. I couldn't find any platform yet. Though I saw an empty repo created under the CoMaps project. 🤞

    Es hat sich bestätigt 😁

Finally, Every Door 6.0 is out! Try some plugins, but mostly, go out and map!

It's up on Github and on AppStore, soon to appear in F-Droid and Google Play, pending some deployment fixes.

Taking an inspiration from QGIS visual changelogs, I've decided to write extensive logs with videos and screenshots for Every Door releases. Check this out:

only calculates the speed in the route planning, whereas includes turn-offs, traffic lights, traffic calming etc. in the route planning. This means that other routes are created that are better and the calculated time to arrival is therefore much more accurate than with OrganicMaps.

Does anyone use a map app other than Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps? In the USA, I find that everything else is unusably bad. My use cases are primarily driving and walking.

I've been dipping my toes into (Open Street Map for Android), and yeah, it definitely takes some experimenting to learn and get set up . . . which is not the greatest quality in a navigation app.

So far I've only used it to get around my home city, and only when not strapped for time. This transition is definitely a marathon, not a sprint.

I use as my primary GPS/Maps tool, and primarily for driving.

This is because I do not have my device operating as a "phone" - is only occassionally connected to data when travelling. Offline maps are essential.

I wish OpenSeaMaps were more useful, as I also sail.
