Yaneer Bar-Yam, founder of the so-called World Health Network which so many covid-aware people foolishly insisted on following, appears in the Epstein files.

Here's Bar-Yam asking Epstein, who four years earlier had pleaded guilty of child prostitution, if he wants to talk about science: https://www.justice.gov/epstein/files/DataSet%2010/EFTA02025360.pdf

Interesting observation. I have had massive struggles with this dissertation and two hours of actual work in a day plus breaks is the best I get. Today I realised I'm a six finger typist and thought I'd try typing with eight. I was much slower but I just worked for 45 minutes without my brain getting distracted or overwhelmed. And my breathing feels slower. Will have to experiment more with this.

This is among the most concise and well cited sources for the current state of knowledge and tools. Even for well-informed people who already take strong precautions, there is still likely something new to be learned by giving it a read through.

Their face is drawn in extreme concern. A speech bubble shows them asking, "is there a less invasive option?" a drawing of a disembodied white coat, with jagged edges and allmost glitch-like shaking lines is before them. Long COVID can happen to anyone.

This post is part of a new blog series focusing on Long COVID. The author, Rachel Nussbaum, is a Master of Public Health and COVID-19 long-hauler, with three years of lived experience with Long COVID. Through this series, WHN aims to raise awareness of Long COVID and long-hauler experiences, as well as the implications of the disease for public health.

A screenshot of the same social media post appears in the middle. At the bottom, white text reads: “A peer-reviewed 2024 study in The Lancet Regional Health Americas found that out of 899 young and healthy Marines, a fourth of them went on to develop Long COVID after infection.” Footer text reads: “The World Health Network is a network devoted to global compassion—working together to inspire collective action through science for a safer, healthier world.”

Christmas Day, despite keeping it as relaxed as a trip to see family can be, wiped me out. Boxing Day was quiet, but the post-exertional malaise (or post-exertional symptom exacerbation, for those who prefer) kicked in yesterday and I was good for nothing. Slept for a big chunk of the day and never really felt as though I properly woke up.

Today is slightly better, but not great. I've been trying to do a few light tasks to keep my brain in gear, but I think I'm done for the day.

Don't get covid, kids. You have no idea what it will leave in its wake.

In September I virtually disappeared from social media.

I had a flare up so bad I lost the ability to write.

The fear that I would never recover became all consuming.

The “what ifs” were unrelenting.

It’s taken 3 months to be able to write about it.

My latest is about baselines, flares & how to ask for help:
