Me: No serial killer will ever lure me into their murder van. I' m too smart
for that.

My girlfriend regularly tells me “if
free public libraries didn't already
exist and someone tried to invent
them, they would be condemned
as a socialist plot” and | think
about that a lot.
Public library energy is the best energy. Like here is *all* the knowledge, it's been meticulously organized and vetted and it will cost you nothing, welcome to the absolute pinnacle of human civic evolution, feel free to pull up any bean bag chair you like
Yes, I know I've posted this before, but I really want one 😊
Public libraries could make this the door to their reading areas, then I could try it, get sick of it, and not be bothered 😁

I dream of having a secret door in one library that leads to another hidden library.
It would be fun if public libraries were well- funded and open in the evenings and we built a culture where it’s normal to gather at the library after work and browse the shelves and chat about the latest books and read the Saturday night away.

"For us to purchase?"
"No. We simply take."
2:
"This is incredible by which I mean difficult to believe."
"Observe this!"
3:
"I briefly possesed this though I did not read it."
Librarian: "There is no shame."
4:
"There are no expectations?"
"They expect you to return them."
Librarian: "It is the core concept."

The perfect tattoo idea doesn’t exis...

At today's staff meeting we discussed the need for warning labels for our books.
Like “not microwave safe”
“not dishwasher safe”
“for suppository use only”
The discussion was prompted by another library where a patron got their book wet, tried to dry it out in the microwave, and the metallic RFID tag destroyed both the microwave and the book.
As much as I apporve of this creativity. If you have a book you don't want (I know but it could happen, theoretically) give it to a thriftstore, that's where I get most of my books 😁

Okay, so it's not the same picture.

It's surprisingly fun and accurate to describe nations as people... So which nation is this? 😁
