Belated Christmas gift, a signed poster from an exhibit in Toledo. I love this! Need to get it framed and up in the studio. #art#inspiration#poster
A poster titled "RULES FOR ART & TECHNOLOGY," featuring a series of guidelines related to the use of technology in art. Key phrases include "No tech demos," and "When the tech is no longer novel, will the work still hold up?"
I visited an exhibition yesterday at the #CreweCenter at #USM in #PortlandME yesterday. The theme is "Of Sibyls and Source: Ranges and Ruptures" showing through March 31, 2026. The first piece that caught my eye was "Invoking the Muses" by artist and teacher #SusanBickford. "These dresses are meant to invoke and honor these ancient Goddesses, indeed to welcome them into this temple, remembering their essential role in creative inspiration. Position in relationship to the architecture and an extension of the sky, sunlight, moonlight, and the wind, and made as an offering, each stitch a prayer for the future, and the artists receiving their blessing."
Nine black dresses hanging from a wooden rafter in a gallery with high ceilings. The dresses are semi-transparent and appear to be floating. In the distance, there is a light blue sky.
A picture of over-the-water bungalows taken at the El Dorado Maroma vacation resort in Riviera Maya in Mexico. A sandy beach can be seen with gentle waves coming in.
Stan Stewart on the inspiration of winter, discontented yet hopeful with the present, and a few reflections on another music release. #NewRelease#inspiration
A picture taken on the North Island of New Zealand during a ferry tour of the Bay of Islands. The rock formation called "The Hole in the Rock" can be seen from the ferry. It is a large steep rock formation with green vegetation covering the top portion of it. A small hole can be see on the left part of the formation that is large enough for a canoe or kayak to fit through. The formation is completely surrounded by water.

We don't need to wait for a new year, or even a new day, to change the way we look at the same old things. Exploring new avenues of thought is the matter of an instant, a step we can take anytime, as often as we wish.
Every now and then, I return to the source for #inspiration. I've been taking time away from the studio to celebrate the holidays, spend more time with family and reset. As we creep closer to the end of the year, I'm thinking about what to make, what to express, how to take my work to the next level in 2026. This Nigerian (Igbo) pottery vessel is absolutely magnificent--looks like sewn leather, doesn't it? #pottery#NigerianPottery#ceramics#art#BlackArt#AfricanArt
A large brown ceramic vessel with a wide mouth, everted rim, cylindrical neck with pronounced ridges, and globular body decorated in concentric bands and 'horseshoe' motif. The 'horseshoes' are applied coils of clay and they have been incised in such a way that resembles stitching. The pot is stately and warm in its presence. It has been broken and mended.
