Hi all, just sending this as a final reminder, I would also be really chuffed if you would share it
WHAT: Rally against militarism and the Australian military establishment
WHEN: 18th of February at 4:30
WHERE: Outside the Hyatt hotel
Australia's most senior representatives of the defence establishment will gather at the Hyatt hotel to complain Australia is not spending enough money on murder. They'll be talking about vital topics like supporting imperialism - Australian, American and Israeli - and the need to spend $350,000,000,000 (about 32,000 dollars per Australian household) on nuclear submarines. We want to put on a reception to give them some feedback about how we feel.
We'll be meeting at 4:30 on the 18th at the bus stop outside the Albert Hall. Your attendance would be greatly appreciated, but any help you could give us in building the rally would be tremendous - texting friends and spreading this message on to further chats [Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal etc.] would all be an enormous help.
Absolutely bizarre thermometer graphic used on #ABCTV news tonight. Check the number scales both left (C) and right (F) in the #Canberra edition. No AI please! #ABCNewsAU

Rising Tide #Canberra is the Canberra hub of the Newcastle-based Rising Tide (RT) movement.
#RisingTide exists to channel civil resistance, specifically non-violent direct action for #climate defence.
The annual highlight is the blockading of the #Newcastle Coal Port - the largest by volume of its kind in the world. This blockade includes a large and growing Canberra contingent. And throughout the year there are team building activities, information sessions, Discobedience dance, choir, film nights, trivia nights and ad hoc protest actions in Canberra. See Rising Tide media releases for more info on past activities. https://www.risingtide.org.au/media
Follow this account for updates on what Rising Tide is up to, information on how you can get involved, climate wins and losses in #Australia and abroad, and social justice aligned actions.
Its been a big day for this little guy. His family have settled down for a picnic dinner besides the lake, but for this young dog, living his best life has been just too much.
The joy tank is empty. He is down and out, and not even his favourite chew bone laying centimeters from his nose can rally any more energy.
The next four mornings are forecast to be very cold for this time of year - more likely early September weather. The forecast is for 6, 3, 5 and 8 in Tuggeranong and 7, 4, 7 and 9 at the airport.
So don’t ride expecting normal December mornings because you may need some of your winter gear.

Attention all #canberra locals - the ACT Woodcraft Guild is having its annual exhibition and sale at the National Botanic Gardens over this (long) weekend:
It's a great chance to see local makers and what they make, from ordinary people like me to real professionals. And on Monday afternoon I'll be demonstrating making spinning tops!
Filled my cup with some #volunteering this weekend, with a couple of hours running archery for a handful of #Scouts on Saturday and then another couple of hours at the Scout Hall working bee on Sunday!
Still found some time to play games - I've almost finished Art of Rally and it's become one of my favourite games of all time.
Lots of #MISTerFPGA#arcade tinkering too - interspersed with playtesting some of the greatest games of all time: Jetpac, Gradius, Armalyte.
Found time for a couple of rides too, including a local tour of #canberra lakeside attractions with an interstate visitor. A bike is a great way to see a lot.
I wonder if anyone on here from #canberra is or has been involved with Canberra Makerspace?
I've been interested in getting involved, but being somewhat introverted and never actually meeting anyone in 'real life' who is particularly maker-inclined I've never done it.
