I went in to the office yesterday, as 3-day RTO demands. When I arrived, a steady, thick flood of water was pouring down from the part of the 2nd floor that overhangs a patio. The plumbing was repaired by the end of day, after a couple of hours with the heating turned off because the boiler was involved somehow.
It was still warmer than my home workspace beside the cat flap on a -15 day.

Watched the Quatermass Xperiment (1955) with Hammer Films in the end titles and no David Tennant. Early because I won’t get a snow day for work tomorrow.

Interesting mix of BBC and Hammer stylings. Effective horror. Such character acting. Oh, the Bunsen burners. My, the animal footage. Honestly, the Beeb. Such an ending. don’t do a Wrong Quatermass.

Chapter 18: Joyful Acceptance

You know how sometimes you get an overwhelming urge for tacos pastor (or any particular food)? You go to a taqueria, order up, and your entire being sings from the first bite to the end of the day. That hit the spot.

Another day it might be congee, borscht, a roasted chestnut sweet potato. You don’t always know what will hit the spot, or at least that’s the way my body works.

Turns out the dharma is a nourishment that fulfills you spiritually when you’re hungry for it. Doesn’t matter if the teacher is having an off day; what’s important is readiness. Community is one way to bake that in. Active interest in learning and unlearning is another.

I had a sense of "did they watch the same movie?" over Sunday’s feed (Godzilla 1988). We had watched the movie over the course of several nights a few weeks ago. My impressions focused on the love and respect for the original films shining through the places not smeared by Emmerich's writing and direction.

It may sound primitive and scientific, but through the plot holes, we could ask Jean Reno to chew the scenery for help.
