Former me put a March 1 deadline on my calendar. Present-day me just discovered that the real deadline is March 15th.

I love former me…

Not clear on the motivation behind the rope cut but, hey: it adds a plot twist?

Aaaaaaand the entire university library proxy server system has gone down and IT doesn't work on Sunday mornings.

Yeah, I thought so too.

(It's not that I don't believe in "weekends," it's just that I like to group my weekends in ways that fit MY calendar, not my institution's calendar. Wednesday hikes, and Friday fly-aways, rather than Saturday and Sunday framings -- uninterrupted time is valuable for what I want to do with it. Sooooo frustrated today.)

  1. Thalbach Monastery, The outstanding debt of 800 florins at the district bailiff's office in Swabia, 1611-1714. NOTHING OF INTEREST. GO AHEAD AND LAUGH; THAT WAS FUNNY.

  2. The cats are contentedly snuggled in bed, giving me elbow room for my morning work cycle (I was a sneak and left the bed-heater on)

  3. Today is KAZOO DAY at Harpeth Hall, so I get to share my collection and my collected wisdom with the high-school crowd!

Dear 15th century Margaret:

I love that you are ensuring prayers for both your first dead husband and your second dead husband, but I worry for your reputation. Perhaps choose a younger spouse next time?

The person who identified the crisis as urgent and in need of immediate all-hands-on-deck attention…

Is the same person who voted against the group’s solution

This feels weirdly “2025 in a nutshell”
