"A House of Dynamite" von Kathryn Bigelow.
Ein Film, der zeigt: wenn es hart auf hart kommt hat niemand irgendeine brauchbare Antwort auf irgendwas. Frustrierend realistisch, grauenhaft plausibel. Sehr unangenehme zwei Stunden, macht absolut keinen Spaß. 10/10
@ralphruthe
IMHO: Zur Abwechslung mal ein richtig guter Film, der absolut sehenswert ist.
Wirklich erfirschend, leider nur schwer zu finden unter all dem "Popcorn-Krachbum-Kino" Zeugs. Das Ende ist super!
@pyte Just checked PowerSetting options both in #tuxedo_os control center and also in kde options "energy mode".
In #KDE there is no option to turn on/off that affects the cpu clock settings.
In tuxedo's control center, options are on "max settings" but with no effect (still only to be able to slide from 0.8 - 2.2 GHz).
@tuxedocomputers It is an Intel Core-i9-14900HX. Do you need anything more?
In tuxedo control center, i can see that my "max performance" profile has a blurred option in the profile overview that read "balanced", other profiles have "silent". Maybe this is a hint.
@tuxedocomputers Yeah, tried it. bestware support told me, they are not in charge, cause they only sell the hardware and I should use windows, then it all works.
I still believe that there is a demand for this (not only on my side, there should be a lot of people having this problem) and that there is a way to implement a solution into the system that can be easily used by endusers (like me).
A banker, a grocer, and a software developer walk into a bar.
The banker says, "My app is great! It's only 70MB, lets you pay bills, transfer money, and tells you when your salary is in. It's so efficient, we only update it once in a blue moon, and we don't collect any of your data."
The grocer scoffs, "Amateur! My app is a massive 1GB, updates every single week, and has a million trackers. We know what you ate for dinner last Tuesday, what you're thinking about eating on Thursday, and probably what your neighbor had for breakfast."
The software developer just shakes their head and says, "That's not a joke. That's just real life."

> Turn secureboot in the UEFI off so that it does not annoy you in the future.
Okay, now we are talking: Is it possible to turn it off on a XMG? I do know, that this is not possible on a new acer predator 18, so this is a very important question for me.

@novacustom Thanks for sharing, i did take a look at your suggestions. Unfortunatly, they do only offer up to 16" size. I want to have 17" plus, so there novacustom will not be an option for me ;-)
Outside the tech world, everyone talks about public figures like Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Sam Altman, and others. However, those in IT or with CS background know that people like Dennis Ritchie, Ken Thompson, Alan Turing, researchers and mathematician are the ones who truly built this industry. Sadly, they don't get enough credit or movies. People these days worship grifters and I think it is really sad.
There's no better place to start than the world's first website, https://info.cern.ch, built by the researchers who invented the World Wide Web. No Ads. No popups. Zero nagging to download app or subscribe to newsletter or paywall. It is simple and easy to use.
bitchat is free and open source secure, decentralized, peer-to-peer messaging app that works over Bluetooth mesh networks. No internet required, no servers, no phone numbers. Just pure encrypted communication.
@nixCraft Funny ... using only independant protocols and stuff and then blows itself in the head by using swift to let go only on ONE platform. facepalmsmily

@thelinuxEXP Heared that at Firefox and look what happened ... the trust in Mozilla is gone and Mozilla will have to get up and rebuild this trust in years. Maybe (!) it will regain the trust, but not with this kind of actions.
@nixCraft Can't say. We do use #Jenkins more than anything else and Jenkins has the great advantage to run on your platform, with all the settings you need. If you update it regularly, it makes no problems.
IMHO: Tools like Jenkins have to solve a problem, not to look nice; I think, that is something most people mix together and get confused when things are not looking “nice”.
So, to be short: I'd prefer Jenkins over all the rest.
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 11 users will not be able to uninstall the controversial “Recall” feature, despite earlier reports suggesting otherwise. Recall, part of the Copilot+ suite announced in May, automatically captures screenshots of user activity on the operating system including sensitive information such as passwords or financial data https://digitalmarketreports.com/news/25091/microsoft-recall-feature-on-windows-11-not-removable-after-all/ Do yourself a favor and get rid of Windows from your life—enough of these greedy companies. #privacy#security
