Since this looks to be similar to Obsidian, why not name it something else like it, but without the Obsidian name?

I'll need to do some numerology on that....

EDIT: On the note of Obsidian, my producer and I use it all the time, however, there is another one that someone in a community I'm in looked at, that being Trilium Next. Judging by the looks, it's got similarities to Trilium, which is actually pretty nice.

Not the developer, though that could be an option for sure. I'd highly recommend looking at the security holes for Flatpak, and it's got a ton of them. They're getting fixed, though I don't even have Flatpak installed on my machine.

msokiovt ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

While it is sandboxed, a Flatpak can have this happen to it (from the time): https://flatkill.org/

Is Tauri like Electron, or SQLite, but faster and FOSS? Are either of those what I'm getting at?

msokiovt ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

Since my producer and I are using the Odin Project to potentially learn full-stack JS after the foundations course completion on our end (Rails is another option for full-stack development), we could certainly look into Tauri (even if we're not done with that yet). I wonder, however, why many apps don't use Tauri, and instead, Electron.

I tried it earlier, though the only issue has to do with VPNs, as YouTube hates them. Invidious doesn't really work that well either.

If you decide to do this, make sure you block matrix[dot]org, as they host and share a lot of CSAM on that homeserver.

And of course, I missed it.

Building OpenWatch: an open-source alternative to YouTube ( github.com )

I wonder if you have plans to implement YouTube mirroring like with Odysee. I'm sure my producer, Neigsendoig, would love that.

This is being done on a service using the Nostr protocol from what I've heard.

Fantastic. Please, feel free to take your time on that, but we do appreciate that regardless.

If that's the case, there's a good chance this individual is of a low IQ, and decided to DDoS PS as a result of that. Yikes.

If I'm not mistaken, AbiWord would be pretty good on Haiku, but from a light search, KOffice might also be good, as long as you have the proper GUI mapping layers installed.

It's been confirmed that Bannon is a Jesuit-trained psychopath, so there's really nothing to believe.

Also, we don't have a President, as Trump was stripped of it in October of 2025.

From what I heard from someone, becoming an American citizen is a sort of permission slip if you're outside the country. However, when it comes to being born in America, it's the same concept.

I just tried this with Qwen3:4b (Ollama) and AnythingLLM. It works extremely well with the exact prompt you provided. Fantastic work!

msokiovt ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

I should have saved what the LLM said, with the exact questions you posed. It was certainly similar from the looks of things, given that I used, word for word, the system prompt and the questions I put in chat. I'll probably do it again and maybe put that in the responses.

For those wondering if I participated: Yes, I did for a while, but I was working on a couple projects that took time away from journaling (I still have the journal entries I did when I participated), and I have around 50+ pages or so from that time.

The issue was that I didn't really understand journaling, and I just wrote what was on my mind (usually things I talk about on Lemmy), so I did need to work on that. Otherwise, I get some of it for the most part.

@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

I was looking for a PieFed instance (since I knew about it) to sign up for, just in case, for some reason, my Lemmy account was to suddenly disappear (either by my own volition or otherwise). I had one on Thriv, but HAL had to fix an OOM issue regarding some Postgre nonsense that took Thriv offline for a few days.

msokiovt ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

I had since deleted my Thriv account (and nuked everything), because I didn't trust it'd be online for long. That's why I chose Feddit (and an author I associate with [I also write] originally used it before I let them know about some quirks with the Lemmy instance I use). I think HAL must've been stressed trying to fix it, so I just made things easier for him... hopefully.

Next month ALL users in the UK on ALL platforms will have to do age verification!

At first I thought it was only Java edition but now it seems that all platforms will have it. We have to upload things like Digital ID or other methods to Yoti, a third party company, to verify our age if we want to use social features such as the chat. This means if we don't even in single player the chat will be removed. Then ...

msokiovt ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

They started that with 1.19.4 (1.19.84, as it's called) with the Chat Reports feature, and 1.18 snapshots introduced telemetry (code for spyware).

There are mods to disable all that.

No need for me to drink due to autism, so I get that.

For those unaware of what I'm talking about, I heard about a study that essentially points out how easy it is for someone with autism to become an alcoholic. It's much faster than those who don't have it.

The downvotes make me wonder if something has to do with the way I worded things, what I posted, or maybe the spoiler I placed down for those who wanted to recreate it.

Thanks. Thought I'd switch it to a community that understands what I'm doing. The previous one I put this in apparently didn't appreciate it all that much.

msokiovt OP ,
@msokiovt@feddit.online avatar

Honestly, same. Considering the fact that AI seems to be a dividing point, I use it for reference art if a human artist wanted to recreate it as a compromise (and that's the same with my producer). That's the compromise we make.

No human artist took us up on recreating the AI art we generated yet.

Chromebooks train schoolkids to be loyal customers, internal Google document suggests ( www.theverge.com )

Internal documents revealed as part of a child safety lawsuit hint at Google's plan to "onboard kids" into its ecosystem by investing in schools. In this November 2020 presentation, Google writes that getting kids into its ecosystem "leads to brand trust and loyalty over their lifetime," as reported earlier by NBC News. The ...

It's not as sad as it used to be for me, considering that I've gone a more high-protein, high-fat diet... and low-carb by extension.

I did SAD a lot in my youth, but dad gum it did I force myself to change that. I never get sick anymore since I fully made the switch, eliminating these:

  • Gluten (wheat, rye, oats [glutenous], barley, spelt)
  • Soy
  • Cow's milk (goat's milk and/or sheep's milk is a viable alternative for animal milk)
  • Refined sugars (sweeteners that can be detrimental, and feed parasites)
  • Seed oils (linoleic acid reasons)

If you do what I did, you'll realize that's one aspect of why you were so unwell.

Playing Stardew Valley and teaching Japanese tonight

Hey guys, I made that post about teaching Japanese by playing games together about a month ago. I have one Lemmy user who is available today. It's super short notice but we'll be playing in about an hour (9pm Japan time). I'm not sure which platform that bought the game on, but it's probably going to be either Switch or PC. Feel ...

In the olden days, it used to be breakfast, dinner (modern: lunch), and supper (modern: dinner).

Breakfast literally means "breaking a fast", so technically, I break my fast around once a day at most (not very often do I do twice or three times), but I do intermittent fasting.
