Selbe Logik: "Menschen fahren manchmal zu schnell, daher dürfen Selbstfahrende Autos so schnell fahren, wie sie wollen." oder "Menschen machen manchmal den Grill an und erzeigen CO2, daher braucht eine automatisierte Produktionsstraße sich nicht an CO2 Limits zu halten".

Das ist eine Kapitulation. Die Aufgabe politischen Gestaltungswillens weil man an Technikdeterminismus glaubt.

Nicht ideal für die Obfrau des Ausschusses für u.a. Medien.

His points 1+3 are good, the point 2, that "written commands are bad" is missing the point: in Linux a command line takes well defined input to make well defined things happen. This "browser" does not, it returns some results where you don't know and can't know its connection to the input.

Reduziert der Betrieb mit SAFs auch die nicht-CO2-Effekte, die aktuell bei der Klimawirkung dominieren (2/3)? Nur 1/3 ist CO2 direkt, der Rest sind Wasserdampf, Ruß und andere Effekte. Denn selbst wenn aktuelles Kerosin komplett regenerativ hergestellt würde, sänke die Klimawirkung nur um 1/3. Wie ist das mit SAFs? Falls die nämlich weiter 2/3 Klimawirkung haben, dann ist hier Ende und man braucht nicht weitermachen.

Da bekomme ich echt Puls. Gute Ideen, viel hängt an Turboprop gegenüber Jet, neue Flugzeugformen. Aber der wichtigste Punkt, die nicht-CO2-Wirkung von Flügen in der oberen Atmosphäre ist "jenseits der Studie"? Tut mir leid, das ist dann nicht sinnvoll, von "Dekarbonisierung" überhaupt zu sprechen.

Danke für diese Erläuterungen. Ich fürchte nur, dass der Umstand, dass SAFs halt nur in minimalen Mengen verfügbar sind, ein Umbau der gesamten Industrie auf ein solches neues Produkt sehr viele Ressourcen verschlingen wird, die sich dann auch rentieren sollen. Ein weiterer Lock-In Effekt für diese Art Transport. Und kein nachhaltiger.

Ich habe ein D-Ticket als Jobticket. Ohne Enddatum. Als Karte. Die gilt bis in 10 Jahren oder so. Die wird nur ungültig erkannt, wenn das Lesegerät von irgendjemandem irgendeine Info dazu hat.

Es ist also vollkommen gaga, dass ein digitales Semesterticket (!) monatlich (!!) aktualisiert werden muss.

Look, Jeff Atwood, it is difficult to take you seriously when you write authoritatively on a subject you clearly don’t understand.

GDPR doesn’t mandate cookie notices.

Cookie notices are malicious compliance by the surveillance-driven adtech industry.

If you’re not tracking people, you do not need a cookie notice, period.

If you’re only using first-party cookies for functional reasons, you do not need a cookie notice, period.

If you’re using third-party cookies to track people – i.e., if you’re sharing their data with others – then you must have their consent to do so. Because, otherwise, you are violating their privacy. Even then, the law doesn’t mandate a cookie notice.

How would you conform to EU law without a cookie notice if your aim wasn’t malicious compliance?

You would not track people by default and you would make it so they have to go your site’s settings to turn on third-party tracking if, for some inexplicable reason, they wanted that “feature”.

Boom!

No cookie notice necessary.

What’s that?

But that would destroy your business because your business is founded on the fundamental mechanic of violating people’s privacy?

Good.

Your business doesn’t deserve to exist.

I'm running a website for a science consortium and we don't track, we don't sell anything, and we don't have to worry about visitor data storage and protection, and we do not need any cookie clicked on the site. Very simple, very relaxing.

It also prevents the need for a data protection responsible person, because no data is being collected.

It does have use cases (we use it for prototyping spatial experiences at work) but for mainstream use that is spot on. The tech doesn't work good enough to combat all the negative aspects that come with its usage.

I'm still having high hopes for better online conferencing. Videocons are shite for discussions and side meetings, virtual reality with a focus of interactions not on photorealistic graphics has a lot of potential which hasn't yet fully been tapped.

But that's a very specific application - luckily far away from "virtual worlds" like Metaverse et al.

That sounds really useful. I've attended meetings on spatial.io and that was already worlds apart from videoconferencing. Lots of things still to be developed - but the fact that I could simply join with my (old) firefox in 2d was suprisingly simple.

The devil is in the details - need to make the entry threshold so low that people are willing to engage in such a format.

This is absolutely needed to remove the substantial carbon footprint of intercontinental flying in science.

I was GOBSMACKED to discover the new ToS has a "binding arbitration waiver," which takes away your right to sue, no matter how badly the service abuses you.

These are profoundly unethical, terrible clauses. They should never, ever appear in "adhesion contracts" (that is, contracts that you merely click through, rather than negotiating.)

Ausnahmen für Härtefälle bleiben bestehen. - Auch bei der Einbürgerung gibt es Änderungen: Die Möglichkeit einer Einbürgerung nach nur drei Jahren entfällt. Eine Einbürgerung nach fünf Jahren ist weiterhin möglich, wenn alle Voraussetzungen erfüllt sind, wie zum Beispiel Sprachkenntnisse.

Liebe BuReg: wisst ihr, was Fachkräfte, an denen es D ja mangelt, wirklich motivieren würde, tatsächlich in D langfristig zu arbeiten? Eine Staatsbürgerschaft. Dies jetzt willkürlich zu verlängern, nur aus Boshaftigkeit, ist einfach komplett kontraproduktiv.

Ihr wisst nicht mal, was die drängenden Probleme in D sind. Aber ihr macht sie größer, nicht kleiner.

Ich stellte ja fest, dass es sogar eine "Blockchain für die Wissenschaft" gibt, die irgendwie wissenschaftliche Ergebnisse festhalten soll, oder ähnlich. Irgendwie nichts, was man nicht anders besser machen könnte. Also echte Blockchain. Die Webseite wird gerade "überarbeitet", aber die Blockchain scheint noch zu arbeiten.

This reminds me about Uber. It was clear from very early on that they can't do both: (1) Be much cheaper than taxis, which was their sole selling point, (2) actually have a sustainable business model by paying a decent wage to drivers. The "momentum" kept them going and now they switched from (1) to (2) and basically reinvented the taxi by having become a taxi switchboard.

Nothing new whatsoever, a step by step walking back of initial claims.

Nein, liebes BSI, die Forscher*innen haben 93 Schwachstellen gefunden und davon waren 46 neu. Von den 93 Schwachstellen waren nur 14 bei Wechselrichtern, entsprechend von den 46 neuen noch einmal vermutlich deutlich weniger.

Die meisten Schwachstellen waren bei PV-Apps und Cloud-Diensten.
