The new 4K restoration of Stuart Gordon's legendary Re-Animator is a must for fans, with the film itself in great condition and hours' worth of high quality extras. All the main players are represented here and although certain subjects naturally come up again and again, there's very little repetition.

What makes Shin Godzilla more than a great Godzilla movie is how it doesn’t simply return to the iconography and tone of Ishirō Honda’s 1954 original, but it expands and embellishes upon it.
Hi, I'm thinking about writing a media piracy tutorial for absolute beginners (think my mother - people who can use browsers and office but that's about it). ...
Every homepage for a BitTorrent client shows using it to download a Linux .iso (GPL) or the short film Big Buck Bunny (Creative Commons).
Maybe make the examples in your guide legal but the steps can be the same as for illegal, e.g. "Here's how you can use The Pirate Bay & QBittorrent to find & download Big.Buck.Bunny.1080p.mp4".
Then, when they follow the steps in your guide, they can change Big Buck Bunny to whatever they want to download.
5% NeoDB (media logging & collections like Letterboxd, Goodreads etc)
I don't use Pixelfed any more cuz images only doesn't really interest me.
I have a PeerTube account but don't browse much and have only uploaded a handful of files. Might do more in future.
I tried Hubzilla, but soon got locked out of my account (password error?). Haven't bothered trying to reactivate yet, but might.
I have a Sharkey account, mainly to try something "Mastodon-like" but with more functionality (longer posts, markup, etc). But my timeline is too dominated by a handful of users, and it's no good for watch parties, so I barely use it.
I got an account on Gush (media logging/blogging?) thinking it was like NeoDB, but now I think you're literally supposed to gush 😁 about some media / game with a long review, whereas I mainly want tracking, lists, ratings.
I've done a couple of pages on Ibis (wiki from Lemmy developers), but until it becomes more developed & widespread, I'm contributing to joinfediverse.wiki.
I'm considering trying out Mbin, to unify my threadiverse & blogging universes and some other features.
There were no visible comments and ratings were "not enough ratings" on each page.
I went into in the edit window of the "duplicate" pages but didn't see a merge button , so I suggested the 2nd & 3rd pages get merged with the 1st one (turns out the fourth result was for a sequel).
Hopefully they'll get merged by the admin.
Do you know if a user gets notified when merger suggestions are accepted?
On Sunday I chose the top one & completed the collection with the remaining films, picking the one with an IMDb entry when there was more than one, or inputting the IMDb URL when search was fruitless.
An East Asian man with a light blue jacket draped over his shoulders holds a young east Asian woman in a white blouse leaning away from him. He holds a knife in his other hand close to her face. Behind them is a large painted film poster featuring Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers dancing. The poses of the people and the movie stars parallel each other.
Both great fun, and I recently re-watched both in Fediverse watch parties; Kung Fu Hustle in #KungFuSat (29 Nov) and Shaolin Soccer in #Comedon (16 Oct).
A man sat up in a bed surrounded by thin net curtains is silhouetted by the bedside lamp he just turned on. In the foreground, a young woman with long blonde hair lies on the bed, eyes closed.
A black & white still image from the 1939 film 'Bachelor Mother'. A young blonde white woman in a dark suit smiles somewhat as she arranges a row of Donald Duck statues on a countertop.
I used Floorp (Firefox mod) and Firedragon (formerly based on Librewolf, now on Floorp), don't know if they are cutting out the AI cruft. They have other privacy features, mainly their choice of default settings.
I'm currently using Zen (Firefox mod), which made a statement:
We noticed a rising interest regarding the use of AI in browsers. To be clear about our position on this: Zen currently is disabling all AI features included in Firefox and will continue to do so.
I would like to start sharing podcast episodes I like on lemmy/threadiverse, but it feels like there is no non-awkward way to do it. Often podcasts don't actually have their own website and it feels obtuse to link to applepodcasts or something...
I linked to a podcast using pod.link (which offers links on many podcast services) but somebody added it to NeoDB, making all episodes available there 😀

A cemetary on a hill, a soldier walks along a row of gravestones. In background at left , several mourners near a tall crucifix. Thick clouds loom in the disance.
A grizzled middle-aged white man with salt-and-pepper stubble and wearing a Santa Claus suit (but no big white beard) and holding a cigarette, stares miserably near the camera
