The reason I started making computer wallpapers is that I wanted clean “surfaces” that felt sufficiently in-universe for pop-culture things I love, rather than character collages that were once provided as official wallpapers.

Over the years, I’ve kept finding what evokes the universe that also works as actual backgrounds, usually with lowish contrast so they aren’t distracting.

I appreciate that wants to make its employees loyal millionaires. But I want to ask a really serious question.

What kind of hell is OpenAI planning to unleash on the earth in the next 24mos that it requires a "carrot" worth hundreds of millions of dollars to keep employees from leaving?

This hasn't made the news anywhere, but if you know a small business in Canada right now that ships to the US, they are actually getting crushed by the border between Canada-USA being in absolute chaos.

Tons of trucks are being sent back. Packages denied.
This is absolute hell. Much worse now than anytime since the whole tariff situation started.

Outside of the logistics and ecommerce circles, pure silence, nobody knows

Can't say I'm particularly sympathetic to the "Lol let it burn" takes about MITRE, despite agreeing that reforms are long past due. Generally speaking you want to plan a remodel, not start with a surprise demolition.

@mttaggart isn't that the response to this whole admin? People keep telling me You're a Libertarian you should be excited he's destroying everything. I wanted sensible reforms, not death camps. (luckily my conscious is clean and my hands.)

The good news is that my headache did in fact go away once I slept; admittedly I slept for like 13 hours but that's part of the deal when you try to jumpstart after a long illness.

The bad news is I'm so out of shape sitting in my office chair and read/typing locked up the small of my back. It's manageable, but my pride is definitely wounded.

"How'd you hurt yourself? Carrying heavy objects? Chopping lumber? Particularly vigorous yoga? Karate?"

"I... sat in a hard chair for too long."
