A Louisiana law requiring public schools to display the Ten Commandments in every classroom can stand, the 17 active judges on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals have ruled — vacating an earlier preliminary injunction.
I'd prefer the 8 "I'd really rather you didn't" rules of Pastafarianism be displayed. The Church of the flying spaghetti monster',s rules were always pretty reasonable to me:
Don’t act all self-righteous: Don't act like you're better than everyone else when describing my Noodlesome Holiness. If some people don’t believe in me, that’s okay. Really, I’m not that vain.
Don’t use my existence to oppress: Don't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don’t require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people.
Don’t judge people by how they look: Don't judge people by the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they speak, or, well, just play nice, okay?
Don’t indulge in behavior that offends yourself: Don’t indulge in behavior that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age and mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is "go fuck yourself," unless they find that offensive, in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk.
Don’t challenge the ideas of others on an empty stomach: Don’t challenge the bigoted, misogynist, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat first, then go after the bastard.
Don’t build expensive churches/temples: Don't build multimillion-dollar churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my Noodlesome Holiness when the money could be better spent ending poverty, curing diseases, living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable.
Don’t go around telling people I talk to you: Don’t go around telling people I talk to you. You are not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can’t you take a hint?
Don’t do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into leather/lubricant/lasciviousness: Basically, if the other person is into it, then go for it (see suggestion #4), but if they aren't, don't force it.
The fact is that there is almost no more important job for the news media than to demand answers to these sorts of questions before a president takes the country to war. ...
If your product can't enter my world without you paying millions of dollars to interrupt my good time, I am positive I do not need to know about your product.
100% not true if they were using a single session to check multiple grants.
Every prompt you send contains a hashed version of your entire conversation with the chatbot. When this exceeds the chat bots context window, it's answers become less and less relevant.
You'll notice this if you've ever had a chat or guide you through something for an hour or more. It eventually gets something wrong takes you down a rabbit hole, and goes in a big circle. At this point, it can be very difficult to get the chat bot to simply respond to your prompt, i.e. if you say "you know what let's talk about _______ instead." It will keep talking about whatever you were talking about staying in your dumb rabbit hole loop.
So if they did this with multiple grants eventually it would basically realize theyre looking for "yes that's dei" and just responding with different versions of that ad nauseam.
Any good movie, or tv show that moves through time...?
Breaking bad? Walt is pretty traumatized by his cancer diagnosis. Skylar is pretty traumatized by Walt's shit.
Ozark? I mean holy shit. His son has a fake identity and is laundering money writing essays for peers in high school. That's a fucking coping and modeling masterclass. Charlotte starts drinking and smoking.
Yeah maybe like in Friends or Everybody loves Raymond they don't get traumatized but those are just sitcoms.
But yes. Suicidal thoughts are pretty normal. Suicidal plans are not.
So quick bubbling thoughts of "God I wanna die. Fuck this. Fuck everything. Fuck everyone. Can I just fucking die already?" Pretty normal. Uncomfortable, but just about all humans have thoughts like this when stressy/depressy hits hard.
Thoughts like "how many amps would it take to stop my heart, and is that wall socket enough? Do forks conduct enough electricity..?" NOT NORMAL.
Don't let this enormous sea of gray between these two amorphous examples guide you. TALK TO A THERAPIST.
Power went out last week in subzero temps. Told the landlord were buying a generator and taking it off our rent. Because guess who pays if the pipes freeze? I don't mean just for the pipes, I mean for the roof over our head until it's fixed. Oh that's right: then.
If a tree falls on the roof they replaced 2 years ago, guess who pays?
If the plow guy fucks up the drive way again, guess who pays to fix?
If the fucking door's weather stripping comes off and it gets drafty, guess who is paying for the weather stripping to fix it?
The economy is so ass right now, my gf and I are poised to buy, but it just doesn't make sense right now. Our rent is near $3k a month, and that mortgage would get us dick nothing next to what we have. Would literally afford us half the sq ft and half the acreage for worse everything.
Is it bad for equity? Yeah. Is it really the best option until the market turns? 100%. A down payment on a house for a mortgage is lighting that money on fire. Our rent for 2 years is less than any down payment we'd be making. I'd say we're willing to wait a solid 5 years to decide on buying/renting until our folks are all dead.
None of those are illegal; they are situations wherein the landlord is obligated to fix the problem. The pipes never burst, it is a hypothetical. The power went out, that's beyond their control. We're buying a generator. They're taking it off the rent.

If he starts to show signs of dementia you need to show him how to share his location with you guys by default. This hobby sounds like it could make something stressful even more stressful if not prepared.
Thankfully, this hobby would help stave off dimentia if onsetting, as it is highly cognitive and forces an amount of exercise 🙂
Well yeah but there are realities in which that ruined the emotionally and they turned to drugs and alcohol and didn't become the best versions of themselves but there's other versions where they went on to develop a genetic treatment that helps humans not choke on things like Mac and cheese, winning nobel prizes and changing the world!
I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that nothing is happening. That's not to say I don't understand how you could think that. And I'm sorry I don't mean to single you out. There's a lot of this sentiment going around.
TV news and even most of our platforms algorithms are actively hiding the work that's being done, the results being achieved, and a sense of doom is being injected into the discourse from every conceivable angle.
Here's what's actually happened in the last few weeks. Please copy and paste this list to help chill the doomer bullshit.
Multiple deep-red state legislative seats flipped Democratic in special/off-year elections
Texas State Senate SD-9 flipped (Trump +17 district)
GOP margins collapsing in seats previously considered “safe red”
Greg Bovino removed from Border Patrol leadership after Minneapolis backlash
ICE ended / wound down the Minneapolis enforcement surge (per DHS statements)
Federal courts repeatedly blocking or pausing Trump-aligned immigration actions
DOJ forced into written explanations to Congress over Epstein file handling
Pam Bondi Judiciary hearing exposed internal contradictions and GOP fractures
MAGA figures publicly breaking with Donald Trump over Epstein disclosures
House Judiciary and Oversight escalating demands for documents and testimony
Hundreds of active lawsuits challenging Trump-aligned executive actions
State AGs successfully freezing federal funding cuts through injunctions
Courts increasingly intervening before policies take effect rather than after damage
GOP forced into defensive posture instead of agenda-setting
They have 0 momentum right now. The ground is actively crumbling beneath them. The outlook isn't as bleak as our media sources would want us to believe.
One more thing to add is that historically the outcomes of these kinds of tension are literally never what anyone predicts. Never the authoritarians, never the people fighting for their rights. What outcomes follow always have everything to do with how hard those continuing to fight fought.
The reason the news has us believing we've made no progress is because we're winning a class war.
Posthumously. Ghislane Maxwell was found guilty of conspiring WITH JEFFERY EPSTEIN to
conspiracy to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors to participate in illegal sex acts, transporting a minor to participate in illegal sex acts, sex trafficking conspiracy, and sex trafficking of a minor.
So while he wasn't a convicted sex trafficker, per se, he was a convicted sex offender, and his sex trafficking is beyond accusatory, it is on the record. "Known sex trafficker," or as I said, "Disgraced sex trafficker."

required to continue working without pay because they are "essential".
An employer might say this to their employees but it is false. You are not required to work without pay. You can stop working when the payment stops and claim unemployment. You cannot be fired for doing this, either. Not then, and not later for some other trivial thing. It will be super easy to show it's retaliatory. You can sue for lost wages when this is the case for your separation.
Many reading this are sucked into a fucking doom spiral and will think "yeah, that'll never work." You're unequivocally incorrect. And if it happens at a place of work rather than to an individual, the case is beyond a fucking slam dunk. Just get like 3 of you to contact a law firm for a class action against the employer, then get every employee you can on board. This would be retirement money levels of settlement. No question. It is egregious and indefensible. The US govt will lose that case every time. Employment lawyers win these cases literally every day. One this big is their wettest fucking dream.

Voting regulation is not a power expressed to Congress (except as related to ensuring no bias in race, age, and gender), so his unilateral action has no basis in law. But, when has a basis in law ever applied to him? Lawful grounds such as 'consent' has never applied to him before. Why would it now?
You do not get to make jokes about imperial vs metric measurements while still clinging to MPH nation wide. The rest of the world thinks you're fucking stupid.
Further, the majority of the world walks and drives on the right. Figure it out.
Finally the 2nd floor of a building is floor 2. Not floor 1. This is not even up for debate, nobody agrees with the UK on this absurdity.
