Static site folks: what's your favorite way to put comments on a static site?

I want to host on object storage in order to cut down costs, but I want some form of blog comments over there.

I'm familiar with Disqus and Hyvor, but interested in exploring other options as well.

@vkc My site just appends comments to a markdown file (which is then built). Works fine for small scale stuff where I can manually moderate

This weekend I watched Mike Monteiro's "How to draw an orange" keynote and I think more people should. Because while it has some great "AI" criticism emerging from a deeply humanist and creative perspective I really enjoyed how it talks more about the structures that keep us from becoming ourselves. It's such a treat.

There's a poll with over 9,000 replies that says 68% of Mastodon users are from Europe.

This does nothing to shake my believe that at least a third of Mastodon users are German.

Damn, that BcacheFS developer is really unhinged. It’s not just « The rules don’t apply to me », he’s now going « waah waaah codes of conducts are ruining FOSS »…

The only reason CoCs are needed is because of people like him. They’re not silencing YOU, buddy, you’re creating THEM. Learn to be an adult, and everything will be fine.
Funny how the most toxic people always are the ones trying to say community is the most important part… newsflash, you’re ruining these communities, not CoCs.
